  1. It's is the second gaming forum I visit in addition to this one. Do you post there? Do you dig posting there or nah? The place's rep seem to range from positive to controversial at times, and was curious what everyone here thinks about it.
  2. How likely/unlikely is it the content on most streaming networks will be flocking over here ^^^^^ in the near future, though?
  3. Absofuckinglutely. Plus you have access to the amazing multiplayer if you ever want to give it a whirl (I say this as someone who also usually never plays online multiplayer).
  4. Games you love, but you know there's a few things you can add that would make them more fun. Examples? Horizon Zero Dawn - Amazing game, but a climb mechanic would be cool (not just the automatic platforming setpieces from Uncharted that's already there, but climbing onto any ledge like in many AAA open world games), some new weapons that add more options for combat and traversal (maybe a grapple thingy like in Sekiro that lets you grapple to machines and ledges), and the ability to dive in water. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - Put that amazing gore back in ya knobs, kthnxbye Devil May Cry 5 - Reduce the V missions (maybe 3 chapters), replace with more Dante and Nero, make the default difficulty SoS mode and add the wall run from DMC3 to Dante's moveset. No Man's Sky - Fix the MANY cases of glitches and jank in the game (pop-in, pixelated night sky on some planets, change the warp drive sequences back to first person since third person one stutters like trash on PS4, originally there was an animation showing you entering your ship, now it's a jump cut. Change it back). After the technical shit is on point, simply make life on planets much less frequent (rarely more than one per solar system, often none) and add some more story content and it'll be a pretty neat little space exploration game. Titanfall - Easy, just add physics and Battlefield-style destructible environments.
  5. Not sure this is gonna happen but if it does it's possible Take Two games could still be released on PC. A deal could be made that results in their games being console exclusive to Sony. Even if not, considering Playstation Now recently started letting you stream and download PS4 games, they might slowly transition the PC version of PSNow to being a combination of a streaming service and one like Steam or the Windows store which let you download your games, but based on Sony's business practices this gen the catch would probably be a requirement of downloading the software and paying a continuous subscription fee to have access to anything in your library. Sony buying Konami's IPs would be pretty dope for many reasons, not the least of which being Kojima works at Sony now and if Silent Hills became a Sony IP...
  6. I don't get how anyone can care enough about a Doom movie to get mad about it unless they're hatebabies provoked by the director's choice to make Doomguy into Doomgirl, but maybe I'm biased in thinking it's impossible to make an engaging Doom movie to begin with. The best adaptation of the games I can think of is maybe a Hardcore Harry-style experimental first person action film, but even that would probably just make me want to play Doom instead.
  7. This is the correct answer, honestly. While the science industry might say "the development of tasty and sustainable lab-grown meat should be prioritized over resurrecting animals that died off naturally for the purpose of butchering them ourselves into fast food nuggets", scientists and their followers can be so preoccupied with physical health, animal welfare and the protection of the planet that they refuse to acknowledge their issues of being closeminded to eating the most amazing fast food possible.
  8. It's hilarious how much you hear about gender and/or ethnicity switching of characters in comics, movies, games etc pissing dudes off now. Didn't the adaptation of the Silent Hill movie change Harry to an original character for the movie who was a woman, and pretty much NOBODY got angry about it? And it wasn't just a movie based on a shooting game with a dumb story (when there even is one), but a somewhat promising adaptation of games that attempted serious stories that fans ended up being passionate about, so in theory it should've caused much more outrage than a shitty Doom film that you'd think anyone who truly loves video games or movies wouldn't care about to begin with.
  9. Large terror birds are arguably more dangerous than the raptors in Jurassic Park, so hopefully not lol. But the dinosaurs Horner wants to bring back could probably be easily taken out by domestic cats, foxes, birds of prey etc. They probably shouldn't be released into the wild, but worse case scenario they'd serve a similar ecological niche as chickens or kakapos or something. Seems harmless and adorable enough and unlikely that much bad can happen. Sorry, but in this specific case, yes, dinosaurs should be brought back! As long as nobody gets crazy and tries reverse engineering Cassowaries or bringing back several dangerous and ecosystem-disrupting prehistoric superpredators like Sabretooths, Terror birds, and the pandoras box that would be Megalodons there's probably very little to worry about.
  10. Since cloning from preserved Dino flesh in amber (which does in fact exist!) is impossible, the only dinos we'll get are probably gonna look like these: Which are pretty harmless, and will probably make dope pets. The most dangerous prehistoric animals that can be brought back are probably Smilodons or something. EDIT: Actually since DNA takes like 6 million years to degrade and Megalodons went extinct about 2 million years ago, Megalodons. But the likelihood of finding any cloneable genetic material from them is extremely low considering how fish tend to fossilize and how ocean ecosystems function.
  11. When will there be a day we get to wear home clothes in a non-home professional workplace?
  12. Finished it today. I was surprised at how the story in the third act improved the experience for me as much as it did. Was tuning everything out until that point, mostly staring blankly at the sensory overload of silly gothic anime bombast that it was, but got much more invested after the big reveal so I think I'll for sure replay it on Son of Sparda mode now to pick up on the moments leading up to that point I might've missed and maybe clarification on some of the stuff that seemed confusing Hopefully you get to start out with all weapons unlocked because for whatever reason on first playthrough you don't get everything until almost the very end, and without spoiling too much some of the late game ones are so fun that the notion of playing all the way through again without them until the end is a bummer. I agree with most of the criticisms of V in this thread. For me it just comes down to him not being as engaging to play as. His style of calmly walking around at a distance watching his summons tear things up looked cool enough, but wasn't as fun as getting right into the action yourself playing as Nero and Dante with their rocket arms and motorcycle swords. It's a neat idea for a combat system, just not really what I want from a DMC game. That said, the story made me warm up to V a lot; just kinda wished there were less playable chapters and/or those missions were much shorter. But as a whole I loved how by the final missions it felt like the gameplay kept getting more and more stylish as I spend more time playing. Only thing that still annoys me about the normal difficulty mode in DMC5: In a game like DMC 3, you definitely felt more challenged to get good, even on normal, whereas in this one, even though the action IS just as stylish if not more, playing at your best feels optional and you can coast with no penalty, which makes it a bit less rewarding to me. You don't feel nearly as much pressure to be skilled and that's what I miss and hopefully in Son of Sparda mode it won't be the case. But the combat still impressed me and I noticed every time I would get an A or S I started literally entering a trance like state lol. Every single time I zoned out I would improve significantly, so from what I can tell even though the difficulty is more forgiving than in previous ones it still seems intentionally designed to reward more style and skill. Based on that I bet the next hardest difficulty mode will be a perfect balance and the harder ones after that will likely be very challenging and rewarding for anyone badass enough to tackle them.
  13. I hate to say it, but it's not blowing me away so far. I'm not sure how far into the game I am (fought 7 or 8 bosses, played as both Nero and V) but it all seems kinda...easy. I was hoping the next DMC would bring the pain in a post-Soulsborne gaming landscape, but it's been a coast so far. There's lots of style that I can appreciate (riding Nero's rocket arm and stunting on demons hasn't gotten old yet) but as of now I still think Itagaki's Ninja Gaidens have yet to be topped as the most fun/challenging/substantial character action games.
  14. The shittalking Spielberg is getting online for this is somewhat justified but also hits a bit close to home for me because it almost feels like a) people are forgetting how amazing a director he was and b) as anyone who grew up watching his movies knows he's like your dad if he made movies for you (or the dad you wish you had, depending on how good of a father your real dad was/is). That said, sometimes it gets to a point where you gotta start taking the opinions of the thought leaders in your generation more seriously than those of your elders', and his recent movies and his comments in that article are pretty good examples of why.
  15. And when the dust settles, Tyrion becomes king of Westeros! w00t!
  16. Hereditary had me shook as I was leaving the theater like no other film has since maybe The Shining when I was a kid. Genuinely impressive/impactful horror movie. I'll see anything the director makes, so looking forward to subjecting myself to this one when it's out.
  17. Kieth had some serious presence in the band, which will be missed. Some of their subject matter was...not the most forward thinking (The SMBU video was a stunning piece of filmaking...until the dumb twist at the end), but their music and live performances always had an energy that can't be denied. I was a huge fan of them in the 90's and stopped listening after TFOTL but discovered a couple years ago they were still playing to MASSIVE crowds in various places worldwide and still had a very energetic live show which kinda made me want to see them live.
  18. Indeed. When I think about how dumb I (and most teens on average, probably) was at that age and how much insight and unflinching ability to look at harsh aspects of life it takes to write a movie like that at such a young age I can't help but respect Korine, even if I'm not a fan of most of his work.
  19. Is...is this your way of saying you were hanging out with dudes like Tully and Casper back in the day?
