  1. How the NFL views the NIL era: 'This whole draft landscape has changed' THEATHLETIC.COM It's not just that NIL money is helping lure players back to school. Some coaches are concerned it's producing a more entitled prospect. It’s bizarre to me how invested some Americans are with college sports. How does a college QB playing in a 2nd tier conference make $10 million?
  2. I stopped watching the video when it became apparent they didn’t understand Roblox is a gaming platform, not a game.
  3. The fact that revenue in Asmodee was mostly flat from 2021-2024, but EBITDA was down ~30% leads me to believe Asmodee was being run really poorly by Embracer. It's a lot of debt, but the good side is that the board game industry has very little CapEx.
  4. Interesting race over the weekend: 1) Verstappen will probably win every remaining race this season, barring technical failures/penalties 2) Red Bull need to move on from Sergio Perez. They need a viable second driver 3) I wonder if Ferrari is regretting signing Hamilton? He has been thoroughly outclassed by George Russell this season. 4) It's a shame we have to wait until 2026 for the new engine regs
  5. I'm really enjoying Horizon: FW. I would guess I am somewhere around 35-40% of the way through. They are really doing a good job of introducing new tribes, and giving them a unique cultural identity through colorful side missions. Plus, giving each a unique set of face paint/armour is a cool touch. Almost all of the side content is really well put together, even if some of it feels a little hokey/preachy. I don't understand the people who say that the combat is boring. It is definetly hard if you don't take advantage of most of the games systems, and target a machine's weak points and their weaknesses. I've tried to target a large machine with the wrong outfit/weapons and died before doing much damage, only to switch up my gear and take it down in 30 seconds. That said, IMHO there are too many systems in this game (and I have this complaint about a lot of recent RPGs). Upgrading weapons requires specific animal parts, plus there is a skill tree, plus there is a valor "super mode", plus there is a variety of "special attacks" that you can choose for each weapon, plus there is food that gives you bonuses, plus there are traps... It's all a bit much. That said, it's an awesome game, and I am thoroughly enjoying every minute.
  6. I am hoping this allows Asmodee to get back on its feet. It's obvious they were making cuts to how they do business that were more about saving short term cash, than ensuring the long term viability of their games.
  7. Will do. There is a ton of technique with stretching the dough, and launching it -- and I am very much a beginner ATM -- so it will likely look very amateurish.
  8. My decision making process on buying this stuff boils down to -- "Can I get noticeably better/different food" with this piece of equipment. My opinion, after having a pizza oven for a week is "absolutely". The pizza is night and day better than anything that can be done in a home oven. Home ovens top out at 550F (~290C), while I've got my pizza oven over 900F (480C) -- and the pizza cooks in 60-90 seconds vs. 10-12 munites. The end result is a crispy crust, that is unlike anything I've ever been able to make at home before. If you're like my family, where we make pizza at least once per week, I think it is absolutely worth it. I used to use a gas grill alot. However, now that I am getting better at cooking, I barely touch it. To me it is essentially an outdoor oven. I prefer to sous vide steaks and ribs. And I prefer to do burgers on a griddle. Would I use a charcoal grill, pellet grill, kamado or offset smoker? Probably. I believe the smoke flavour from those does something I can't get elsewhere. This is probably a hot take, but I wouldn't buy a gas grill again.
  9. Yes. For the past 8 years or so, we've been making homemade pan pizza in our regular oven. It got to the point, that the kids complained when we did delivery (for convenience). I got a wood/gas pizza oven -- that can get up to the temperatures you need to do a proper crust (>750 degrees). I haven't quite nailed the technique yet. But the pizza I'm making now is pretty darn good. This is the one I got (not my picture though).
  10. I know people don't watch videos/read articles and instead just react to the headline. The discussion was around Microsoft forcing developers to make a version that supports Series S, and how that is difficult for some of them, particularly considering on how little some of them are selling on that platform.
  11. I've only eaten at one of the places he's reviewed (Buddy's in Dearborn), but I watched a review he did of a place near me a few weeks ago. It got a good review, so I think I will check it out.
  12. They get praised because they are cheap. They are decent quality for a very low price. If Little Caesar’s is a 2-3 out of 10, and Domino’s/ Papa John’s are a 5-6 - Costco pizza is a 6/10. But, fuck, I can make better pizza than that at home. If you go to a decent pizzeria with a proper pizza oven, the pizza is miles better. Can you do better at the price Costco is charging? No. Would I buy a Costco Hot Dog/Pizza Slice for dirt cheap after shopping there? Absolutely. But I know I’m doing it for the price/convenience, rather than it being great food. McDonald’s breakfast is the best fast food breakfast I have add. I love a McGriddle combo. I have also had much better breakfasts in my life.
  13. They’re just OK, and they’re cheap. Their pizza is on the level of fast food chain pizza. It’s not great.
  14. They’re nothing special. They’re just really cheap. It’s mid at best.
