My amputated stump incision has completely healed, but doesn’t look as good as it did before I broke it open. There’s a lot of scarring, and the incision area is sensitive since it’s all scar tissue. I get an uncomfortable tingling sensation in my stump especially the incision area a lot of the time, and sometimes pain (primarily phantom pain) as well but thankfully not too often. I was supposed to get my prosthetic leg/foot last month, but my health insurance denied paying for it. My doctor said that she was going to find out why, and work on getting them to approve paying for it.
  2. I said that it’s one of the games that I’m looking forward to the most, not the game that I’m looking forward to the most which is still Grand Theft Auto VI.
  3. I started playing Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, and it’s a good third person survival horror game inspired by Resident Evil. The core gameplay mechanics are solid, and the game in general is pretty scary with a claustrophobic, dark and unsettling atmosphere.
  4. I like Saints Row 2 more than 3. Saints Row 4 is fun, but feels more like a side game than a main entry. Agents of Mayhem is pretty bad, and the latest Saints Row reboot is somewhat disappointing despite being kind of fun from a gameplay perspective. The story and characters are pretty meh IMO. I don’t really feel sorry for Volition because they kind of shit on their fans during the development of the Saints Row reboot. As much as they claim to care about their fans, they didn’t really seem to at that time. And they released the game in a somewhat unfinished state full of bugs and glitches which hindered my overall enjoyment of it. After Saints Row: The Third they just weren’t the same top tier developer that they once were, and I have a feeling that any further releases from them wouldn’t have been that good.
  5. It’s a turn-based RPG inspired by classic JRPGs, so I’m not really sure why you were expecting it to be 10-12 hours since RPGs in general are known to be long. It’s rare to find any RPG that’s less than 15 hours, and that’s considered somewhat short for the genre.
  6. The music is really good and I realize that the game is a throwback style pixel art RPG aimed at fans of classic JRPGs (which I am), but the cute and colorful aesthetic, silly humor and overall friendship theme make it kind of feel like it’s aimed at a younger audience. It’s rated Everyone 10+ after all.
  7. I’ve been playing Sea of Stars, and enjoying it for the most part. It’s a somewhat charming retro style pixel art turn-based RPG with a cute cast of characters, and colorful graphics. However, only a few hours in I’m already finding it to be a little harder than I was expecting it to be. During combat you have to time a button press exactly at the right moment of an attack to deal more damage to an enemy, or to block when an enemy attacks you. It seems more forgivable for attacks than blocks, because so many times I think that I timed the button press at the right moment just to still get hit and take full damage without blocking. It’s been pretty frustrating, especially since a lot of enemies have attacks that you can’t really judge the exact moment that they’re going to hit you. There should be a slightly larger window of opportunity to block enemy attacks than there is, because you have to be too precise in your timing to block IMO. And some enemies and especially bosses take a lot of hits to defeat, and deal a lot of damage when they hit you which I wasn’t expecting somewhat early in the game. But I really like the combat as there’s cool special attacks and magic spells along with team combo attacks. The story and characters have been decent so far, but everything (except for the difficulty) seems like it’s somewhat aimed at a younger audience.
  8. Yeah, I tried getting into it again after that update but it was too soon for a replay for me. However, it’s definitely been improved since launch and I look forward to playing through it again at some point.
  9. Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle Gal Guardians: Demon Purge Sea of Stars
  10. I’ve been playing Need For Speed Heat, and it’s actually quite good. It’s the best NFS game in years. It reminds me a lot of Most Wanted (2005) which is my favorite NFS game. It’s open world taking place in a fictional city similar to Miami Florida. You choose a character, and can customize their hair and clothes. They’re featured in the story scenes, and are voiced. The story so far has been the usual rookie racer trying to move up in the ranks of racing. It’s been good enough to give an incentive to the racing. The unique aspect of the game is that during the day you do circuit races that earn you money, and during the night you do illegal street races that earn you rep. You can switch between day and night whenever you like. Cars and upgrade parts for them are expensive, so you kind of have to grind races to earn money to buy new cars and upgrades for them. You earn rep to progress in the story since you need to reach a certain amount of rep to unlock the next story event. I really like the progression in the game, it along with other aspects make this the closest to the racing RPG that I’ve been wanting.
  11. Best version of this song that I’ve heard...
  12. I don’t know, but being too easy isn’t fun either. I like to be reasonably challenged in games, just not to the point of frustration. I didn’t know that, perhaps I’ll play it again at some point now. However, I admit that I don’t really like pure platformers without anything else that you do in them such as fighting enemies and/or solving puzzles. So I’m not sure if I will like Celeste even if it’s less challenging.
  13. Have you played it before? It’s one of my favorite Uncharted games. I gave Celeste a shot since I heard such great things about it, but NOPE!!!! I couldn’t handle its difficulty. And this is even more challenging than Celeste? No thanks. I know that some people like punishing difficulties in games, but I don’t which is why I gave up on Soulslikes. I play games to be entertained and have fun, neither of which are happening when I want to throw my controller through my TV in a fit of RAGE!!!!
  14. I started playing Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, and while I‘m not liking it quite as much as Ys: Memories of Celceta or Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana it’s still a decent third person action RPG with fun combat and traversal.
  15. That sounds similar to the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games, 09 is the best in the series and the games continued to get worse after it. It’s still the best golf video game that I’ve played, there hasn’t been a golf game as good as it since IMO. Perhaps EA Sports PGA Tour is, but I haven’t played it yet. PGA Tour 2K21 is the best golf game that I’ve played in a while, but unfortunately it’s kind of basic and barebones. I was hoping that PGA Tour 2K23 was going to be an improvement, but it’s actually worse IMO.
  16. That sounds like a step in the right direction and better than PGA Tour 2K21/2K23, but still not the story and character driven golf RPG that I ultimately want. Speaking of PGA Tour 2K23, it’s a big disappointment IMO. It’s basically PGA Tour 2K21.5. The additions that it offers are minimal at best, and it plays worse than 2K21. In fact, I think that it’s actually worse overall. It’s basically the same exact game with almost everything recycled from 2K21, but with worse menus, character models and swing mechanics. The menus are cluttered, confusing and difficult to navigate, the character models are more realistic looking but uglier with less good hair options and the new curved swing bar to the left of the player is a lot harder to look at when swinging since it’s off to the left side of the player instead of below them. And the backswing moves so fast that it’s next to impossible to downswing without reaching full power so every swing is always at full power. Everything else including the animations, tournaments, commentary, courses, music and sound effects are all recycled from 2K21. They spent two years making the same game worse, bravo 2K games.
