  1. I finished A Plague Tale: Innocence. 2024 Games A Plague Tale: Innocence
  2. I didn’t realize that there were new PS5 Pro rumors, thanks for bringing them to my attention. Is it still expected to release holiday 2024?
  3. I remember you all from the IGN boards, and I’m sure that you all remember my ROCKS!!!! and SUCKS!!!! threads. Setharion told me about this place (formerly Bad Cartridge) back in 2010, and that’s when I joined.
  4. I finished Persona 4 Golden. 2023 games BloodRayne ReVamped Fran Bow Little Misfortune Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories King’s Bounty II A Juggler’s Tale Shady Part of Me The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince The Cruel King and the Great Hero Deliver Us Mars Persona 4 Golden
  5. It wasn’t a big disappointment for me, but I didn’t like it as much as the first game. The story and characters were pretty good and it looked good too, but I just found it kind of boring to play with sluggish character controls, basic shooting mechanics and repetitive mission types.
  6. I didn’t play as the female protagonist in the original Persona 3 either, because I played the PS2 version not the PSP version which added the female protagonist as an option. But I don’t really mind playing as a male protagonist in the Persona games or party based RPGs (especially turn-based ones) in general, because even though they might be considered the main character you’re still playing as multiple characters for the most part.
  7. I just finished watching all of the episodes, and it was goofy fun for the most part. It could be a little too ridiculous at times and the humor didn’t always register for me, but I still somewhat enjoyed it. I’ll watch a second season if there is one.
  8. I agree, I really like Persona 5 Royal but I have no interest in the spinoff games. I’m hoping that Persona 6 isn’t too far off. Although I’m really looking forward to Persona 3 Reload, because P3 is my favorite game in the series.
  9. Yeah, diabetes is a serious illness that can cause all sorts of health issues. As you know I almost died earlier this year from ketoacidosis, and had to have my right foot amputated. I also have neuropathy in my hands, and remaining left foot. My remaining foot has no feeling left in it whatsoever, thankfully my hands still do. I’m not sure that I could game if they didn’t. I’m worried that they will completely lose feeling in them eventually as well.
  10. I just finished the series, and it was good but not great IMO. It didn’t seem much like the game series that it’s based on, it just seemed like it’s own thing which is fine but I didn’t find it as compelling as the games. The animation and fight scenes are pretty good, but the story and characters didn’t do a lot for me. It just seemed kind of average overall, but I still enjoyed it enough to finish it and liked it enough to watch another season if there is one.
  11. This will be the first new Grand Theft Auto game in 12 years, that’s why a lot of people are excited about it myself included. I’m not really sure what you mean by it looking like more of the same, it’s GTA which is an urban open world action adventure crime series so what else would it look like? I personally wouldn’t lap it up no matter what, but I thought that it looked really impressive in the trailer.
  12. There’s a male protagonist as well, so why are the knuckleheads in that article acting like Lucia is the only protagonist? Didn’t they get enough sausage in Grand Theft Auto V? The PS6 probably won’t be revealed until 2027 at the earliest. Also... Alone in the Dark Black Myth: Wukong Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Granblue Fantasy: Relink GreedFall II: The Dying World Pepper Grinder Persona 3 Reload Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
  13. I haven’t been this excited about a game in a long time, 2025 is going to be one of the best years for gaming for me because that’s when I’m going to get a PS5 along with this game and there will be five years worth of other PS5 games available for me to get as well.
  14. She’s cute and I admit that she was kind of a bad example for me to use when naming female characters that are average/unattractive looking IMO, but the actress (Hannah Hoekstra) that she’s modeled from is really pretty.
  15. Yeah, I’ve seen Monster. Great movie. Charlize Theron is one of my favorite actresses, she was especially badass in Mad Max: Fury Road. And I get what you’re saying, but I still don’t really see a reason why the devs didn’t make Jesse Faden (Control) and Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn) look just like the actresses (Courtney Hope and Hannah Hoekstra) that they’re modeled from because it wouldn’t have changed things or made their looks the main focus since they still look similar just a little less attractive IMO. By the way, I don’t want all female characters to look like somewhat exaggerated caricatures like old school Lara Croft and Bayonetta. I like female characters in more realistic looking games to look more realistic as well, and I see no reason why they can’t look both realistic and attractive if there’s no reason for them not to. Some examples of realistic looking female characters in games that are also attractive are Aveline de Grandpre (Assassin’s Creed Liberation), Evie Frye (Assassin’s Creed Syndicate), Kassandra (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), Dani Rojas (Far Cry 6), Katharine (King’s Bounty II), Amicia de Rune (A Plague Tale: Innocence), Lara Croft (Tomb Raider 2013), Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy). I just like the characters that I play as in games to look appealing to me since I’m looking at them for long periods of time while playing. That’s why I don’t really like playing as guys, because I don’t like looking at them for long periods of time.
  16. That sounds good and all, but are there peaches? Based on your impressions and since I’m a fan of the games, I’m going to start watching it today.
  17. Yeah, I admit that using it was a poor choice on my part. It’s really good IMO, one of the better animated shows that I’ve seen in a while.
  18. There’s apparently two main characters - a male and female. I’m hoping that you can play whichever that you want at any time, because I’m not interested in playing as the dude. We’ll see what the first trailer reveals, I’m expecting it to reveal the setting, story and main characters because first Grand Theft Auto trailers have never shown actual gameplay before. Maybe it’ll be different this time, but I doubt it.
  19. I agree that it’s just my opinion, I never claimed to speak with authority on attractiveness. There was some outrage a while back over female characters in video games being overly sexualized, and ever since then they’ve been getting less sexy which is fine but even just being pretty seemed to be a problem and they started getting more average looking and even what I consider unattractive. That’s why it’s my assumption that they’re purposely made less attractive now compared to in the past. Alan Wake is good looking in the first game, and he seems to be in the sequel as well and looks like the actor that he’s modeled from based on what I’ve seen of it. I really can’t think of too many male protagonists in video games that are unattractive TBH, but I admittedly don’t play as many games with male leads these days as I prefer playing as female characters in games. I don’t really agree with this because it’s a known fact that most guys don’t like playing as female characters in games regardless if they’re attractive or not, that’s why there are so few female characters in games because it’s still a male dominated thing. I’m actually in the minority of being a guy who prefers playing as female characters, I’ve just always found attractive, athletic, ass-kicking females to be badass for some reason. I’ve never really liked playing as big, bulky, tank type characters which male characters often tend to be. And I just find female characters more appealing to look at while playing, I don’t like looking at a dude’s butt for hours at a time. I don’t demand it, I just prefer it. There’s a difference. And I don’t really get why it even matters since it’s just my personal preference. I admit that she’s cute, and I do like her. I was simply making the point that she was made a little less pretty IMO than her real life counterpart that she’s modeled from. Maybe. Aloy is modeled from Hannah Hoekstra, not Ashly Burch. And Jesse is more manly looking than Courtney, look at that jaw. And yeah, she definitely looks more tired as well. But she looks like that at the beginning of the game, so it can’t be blamed on her experiences in the dimension breaking, haunt your dreams, hellscape. I didn’t realize that the character model was based on a real person, those bangs and eyebrows were kind of bothering me in the game but I still thought that she was somewhat cute. The problem in this case isn’t so much that she’s unattractive because she’s really not, but whoever did the character models for the game did a somewhat poor job IMO especially for the supporting cast. But I still really like the game, it’s one of my favorites this year. Young or old, runway model or not, I just don’t personally find her attractive. With all of that said, I didn’t mean to take this thread off-topic with my personal opinion on the attractiveness of female video game characters. Looking back I admit that I exaggerated a bit. And I also don’t deny that I could be completely wrong about my assumption of them being purposely made less attractive now to prevent them from appearing sexualized.
  20. Exactly. Thanks for clarifying it that way, because I admit that I sometimes struggle with how to explain things especially in written form.
  21. There’s a lot more male video game characters than female ones, so of course there’s going to be a few more diverse looking male ones. But I still feel that some female video game characters are intentionally made somewhat unattractive looking to avoid being seen as sexualized. A few somewhat recent examples off the top of my head would be games like Control, Deliver Us Mars, Horizon Zero Dawn, Rage 2, Returnal, Scars Above and Wolfenstein: Youngblood. In Control and Horizon Zero Dawn the main characters are modeled from real women which are both pretty IMO, but the devs made them look less attractive in the games. How is making them less attractive than the real women that they’re modeled from more realistic? It’s not which is why making women in video games less attractive so that they’re more realistic looking doesn’t really hold water IMO. It’s my personal mandate and rule. I like playing as attractive female characters in games. I was using Disney/Pixar, shows like Velma, some video games and commercials as examples of things that the diversity in them can feel kind of forced instead of authentic IMO, that was separate from what I said about female video game characters being less attractive looking to avoid being sexualized. Was that an outrage, I wasn’t aware of it. A lot of commercials include mixed race and gay couples in them these days which is perfectly fine of course, but sometimes it can come across as a bit forced IMO. With that said, I myself didn’t mean to cause an outrage here with my comments. And I definitely didn’t mean to come across as if I wasn’t for diversity in things, because I most certainly am.
