  1. All of em, which is kind of the point Slightly more seriously, my Switch has been my go-to 2d indie platform since those often work well as travel games. There was always a bit of tension doing that for me though because even then the games often looked and performed better on PC when you were in that setting. So now I will just make PC my default and use the SD for travel with them. I am also excited that the SD will be better for doing certain kinds of games on the go; e.g., isometric RPGs will work better with the touch pad.
  2. Yeah combos are one of my favorite travel snacks.
  3. I think the motivation for sending dev kits goes beyond compatibility and performance testing. Their handheld has a lot of unique aspects about how the controller works and having one on you gives you a lot better sense of how well things will work and what combinations of the multiple input types they support you may want to use. The steam controller would get you a little closer, but even that will be different enough.
  4. Because the mere act of walking in uncertain environments alone requires far more dexterity than you realize. Showing dancing dexterity gives a good sense of how robust the robots are without having to construct many artificial test environments. And that's just walking! Never mind coupling that with carrying objects, climbing ladders, or doing any mundane thing humans do naturally.
  5. I highly doubt that is the motivation knowing the attitudes of robotics researchers toward robots which is substantially different from the general public. The motivation is probably a combination of 1. Dancing requires a high degree of dexterity making it a useful demo of the robotics control 2. Roboticists generally like robots and like having fun with them rather than being fearful of them. Doing goofy things with your robots for fun is fairly typical. And that said, right now these robots are not being used much for anything. There are concerning military applications, but there are also lots of non-concerning military applications that should concern you no more than a military existing in the first place does.
  6. Oh, reason D) Convenient portable robot controller that is powerful enough to also pair with AI systems. (See: learning from demonstrations, providing feedback, etc.)
  7. I'm on board for those reasons and reason C) Anything to increase gaming support on Linux would be awesome. I'd love to run Linux as a single OS, but gaming prevents that from being plausible. Right now I have computers with all 3 major OS running (Windows, Linux, MacOs)
  8. Mine still says "working" but my iPhone just alerted me of a $5 charge, so I think it went through. EDIT: and there is the confirmation email!
  9. This is exactly where my head is. I'm interested enough to put down the reservation, but I can't decide which I may go for the 256, and then use micro-sd as additional storage so I can move games on and off it, allowing me to avoid the full re-download of a game I might want to play, but am otherwise not frequently playing.
  10. I would really like to just stick to Linux on it with a made-for-handled OS overlay, but I'm worried Windows will be necessary. At least it has the trackpads to make navigating that not terrible. I don't have Gamepass yet, but I imagine it wouldn't work on Linux. Not sure about Blizzard games either (really, I'm just interested in D2 and D4 on that though)
  11. Pure streaming seems a little annoying to me. Although I might be a bit more interested if they were doing hybrid cloud/local compute and leveraging web assembly for fast local computation.
  12. There is little doubt that I will replay one of my favorite RPGs of all time in next gen mode with RTX, 4K, and HDR.
  13. FWIW, my Spotify says I added in January 2020, which isn't too long after the show, but I think that's basically immediately after it was released. I think Spotify should add a way to have you alerted when music you're waiting for is actually released because it's a pain constantly searching every month and releases there are often kind of silent.
  14. Oh yeah, I don't mean the character Thor. I just mean that Jane Foster is going to going to go from being a normy-human to super powered, and the physical change in appearance is a good visual approach to highlight that she's not the same anymore, even if it's not "required" by the crazy comic physics. It is a visual medium, so having a visual cue seems appropriate to me.
