Snowpiercer: 8/10 Before Writer/Director Bong Joon-ho was making Oscar winning films he made Snowpiercer (among other things). While I enjoyed Parasite but thought that "this is the movie that's getting you to notice Korean movies?" he basically made a similar movie with Snowpiercer. I've enjoyed myself a good amount of Korean media and if getting past the language barrier is the biggest challenge then isn't having a Korean director make an English movie the next best thing? I would say so and wondering why it doesn't happen more (although from reading about this one sounds like Harvey Weinstein was content with fucking the movie up). Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic movie of sorts. Man created an artificial ice age in response to global warning. Everything on the face of the earth was wiped out except for a handful of survivors who live on a train that sustains life. Despite life almost getting wiped out train life isn't much better, there's still a class system, poverty, inequality, etc. So Chris Evans, THE Captain America, leads a revolution to get from the back of the train to the front of the train. The idea is of course absurd, but it's just crazy enough to believe or at least enjoy. There's some stylish action and maybe a little bit of silliness thrown in. The most impressive part about the movie is probably the cast. The movie is stacked Chris Evans, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer and even a nearly unrecognizable Tilda Swinton is a pretty loaded roster, especially for a movie that I wouldn't say was super huge. I had small gripes with the movie, like the huge exposition dump towards the end but other than that the good certainly outweighs the bad.

I think the distinction here should be that "It is healthy to eat" but just because you're eating doesn't mean you are "eating healthy"

And when we get there (it's like a rec room place where they live) they're all playing roms on some website I never heard of. I didn't need to teach them anything because they already knew more than me.

As far as the first episode goes I thought it was fine. "True gamers" are hardly a metric to go on when it comes to these kinds of things, they would hate it no matter what. But I can see some people really disliking it for: 1. Woman lead character 2. People of Color 3. Vegans! It's more interesting and promising than Halo so far. (And I thought Halo was ok) The writing is semi serious but with some cheese thrown in (the Wesker pornhub line stands out for me). Production values are mostly good though I thought the dog at the end looked kinda iffy.

I don't think it sounds too bad. Free to play isn't the death sentence it used to be and there are plenty of free to play games out there that are great. This ensures the game will have a huge community and you'll be skating around with a bunch of folks doing events and stuff. If the game is good and you don't want to spend a penny you'll be playing it for free. I mean payed or not cosmetics were always probably going to cost something and now you'll probably earn it through some sort of "battle pass" or have the option to buy it outright. Sounds fine to me.
