  1. One week. Two years of political hell, and we're down to one week from being able to finally do something about it. I feel like in some ways a substantive portion of two years of my life has been wasted because every day there's this cloud hanging over all our heads about what vile, racist, misogynist thing our president is going to say or do next. Like living in a constant state of never being able to fully relax.
  2. If they are brave enough, I am sure the NYT and AP can still use this story to refer to Mueller as "controversial" and "embattled". Likely leading Dems to become disarrayed.
  3. Isn't this the case where they were trying to replace the IG with a total Trump partisan to protect Zinke. And it was so blatant that even they had to backtrack when people found out about it, saying Ben Carson's office had screwed up saying she was going to be transferred?
  4. Projection. The Right perceives well sourced, multiply attested stories as wild allegations and political hit jobs. So when they go to actually create a political hit job, they're surprised it's pretty tough. In their minds, these reporters get one anonymous tip and they're ready to run it on the front page of the NYT.
  5. Very irresponsible. Obama needs to be more specific with his calls to "Kill Whitey".
  6. Research the history surrounding Heller. You might be surprised just how preposterous the idea of a personal right to own guns was considered in just our lifetimes. Hopefully I will be proven wrong, but I am operating under the assumption that SCOTUS is now a political arm of the Republican party. They will reach decisions based on what suits their need. Abood was overturned, any hint of criticism of Christianity is now discrimination, while attack after attack on Islam is "facially neutral". No doubt Cayce is right. This is more shit against the wall distraction. But make no mistake, this( like most other issues now) is not a question of Constitutionality. It's a question of how bad Republicans want it.
  7. It made even less sense when, last week, the Dems created the mail bomb thing to distract from the caravan thing....even though supposedly the Dems created the caravan in the first place. You know something really annoying about Republicans? When they try to act like they were always against, or came around, to being against the Iraq War. Fuck any Republican who pretends like they know Iraq was wrong, but then continues to fall for the GOP's same, tired, Ebola screaming, caravan pushing fearing mongering over and over and over.
  8. I don't think Robert's would go along with this, but if they get one more this exactly the type of previously unthinkable ground that we'll be fighting on. Everyone bitching about Manchin or Menendez needs to ask themselves who they want voting on Ginsberg's replacement in 2019.
  9. Yeah, I've heard the difference between the normal 25% or so and just 30% could be enough to swing the midterms. 35 or 40 would be insane.
  10. Even then, it's a pretty striking set of numbers from the Panthers ate my face party. Though, I suspect like in most other cases, most of those undecideds would go with the party once Fox got the talking points revved up.
  11. "Some of which you can't." Ohhhh, how ominous. Does a 30 foot Wilson wait on the other side of the fence, barely peeking over, and eating any immigrants who draw nigh?
  12. Often times it is hard to pin certain politicians to the actions of one of these crazies, but it's impossible not to see the link here. It's a veritable Trump hit list. What really stands out is guys like Clapper and Brennen. Most Americans wouldn't even know who these guys are outside of the invective Trump has thrown at them.
  13. I would give it a real possibility that this is some dumbass Bernie bro pulling a double bluff, but conservatives got greedy and tried to make this a convoluted Soros conspiracy involving two ex-presidents, an actor, and multiple Congresspeople. So even if it wasn't a MAGAhead they still manage to be wrong.
  14. From what I've heard, there is a real question whether these were meant to kill or just scare. But they are "real bombs" and political spin should not cloud that. If a guy walks into a school with a loaded gun, it's not a fake gun just because he didn't shoot anyone with it.
  15. They're just mad this bomb story took the air out of their made up migrant story. It's funny how incoherent the conspiracy theories are on this. The Dems created the migrant train with Soros money, but now they also want to distract from the migrant story with the Soros funded bomb story. They truly have become the party of fake moon landings and gunman on the grassy knoll. None of it has to make sense in the big picture as long as it sounds scary in 5 minute blocks.
  16. I am curious how you are looking at this debacle as a wrestling fan. To me, wrestling has always had its ugly blotches you have to overlook to enjoy, but I just don't know if I can justify supporting the WWE in any way after this.
  17. I was always skeptical that his monkey comments was a "gaff". It always struck me as a classic GOP flag they plant to define the parameters of what the argument is going to be(the current caravan bullshit being a prime example). DeSantis made the calculation that he would rather talk about race then the issues, likely with the goal to make Gillum look like the angry black guy obsessed with identity politics. I am glad to see it not working. Every time one of these mini-Trump's loses a race they ran on his racist playbook, it's good for the country. Maybe after a few more Virginias they'll abandon it. But then, as this cycle is showing us, everything they actually do in office is so unpopular that stoking white grievance is about all they have left. There's a black guy next to him.
