Microsoft Official Xbox Backwards Compatibility Thread

Thrilled with the Xbox one X orange box treatment. I’m hoping my game saves are in the cloud. -
Wait, wait, wait, MIKE!!!!! So, I buy RDRII, and an X1X, for $459 - $200 trade in for my X1 1TB Solid State = $259, plus 2 year warranty of $60 plus tax (8.75% here in Erie County and I believe the warranty is taxed, too)...carry the 1...So that is $346.91 for a 1X and RDRII. ...Frick how do I walk away from that?! Pain in the ass to re-program my harmony one in the living room...still not a good enough excuse not to do it.

I have a 1 TB solid state drive Xbox one from a few years ago in our living room cabinet. I also have one of Sony's earlier capable HDR 4k TVs (XBR75X850C, with the 2.2 HDMI pass-through and I am using initially approved 4k HDMI cables. This was all set-up 3 years ago, obviously before the 4k capable xbox. It was difficult to set up as the TV is large and mounted above the fireplace and my cables are in the wall. Do I bite the bullet and finally and truly see what this TV is capable of and get the Xbox One X based upon the deal above?

Believe me, brother, I don't take it too seriously! However, I do try to be respectful of others. Man, Biggie, in one team deathmatch, I was doing so poorly and the game was sooooo tight that on my last respawn I just hid behind a crate for the last 30 seconds. We were down 72-73, without me that would be an advantage of 71-62. We ended up winning 75-74. My dutiful laying low won the match for us!

Side note: Blood, Sweat and Pixels was a great book.

That is one of the best RACs I’ve seen in a long time. Damn, I mean that won the game.

You are absolutely not misunderstanding me, SimpleG, thank you. So if I am no longer on xbox live, or a member of xbox live gold I would still be able to download and play the game? Additionally, if xbox live or XBLG ceases to even exist it wouldn't effect my ability to play the game if I had a digital copy?

Thank you. Some games differ as far as their lasting importance to me...I last played my 2010 hard copy of RDR just a few months ago. I know the game is my when I purchase it digitally, but I just wonder what happens if I discontinue my service would I still be able to play this game in the future? If I discontinued service would I still be able to DL it? IF I am mistaken please, any of you, feel free to let me know.

I absolutely see your point, but I do respectfully disagree. The same argument might be ( and has been) made about Rogue One. In that movie everybody...EVERYBODY who was a hero died and there was no jedi in it (unless you count Vadar, but he's a Sith ). That's kind of un-Star Warsy and I honestly think it is the best SW movie since Empire. Heck, Halo O.D.S.T. wasn't even a real Halo game (almost even by Bungie's own admission as it being just "filler" for them) and I love the living s*** out of that game. You can be a Star Wars movie that is un-Star Warsy and be "real" and be good. I personally just didn't think the movie was good, incredulity of even sci-fi elements that take you out of the moment(s) aside. I felt it to be weak and easy story telling. I watched it for the second time ever last night, just to be fair in my memory, 10 months after seeing it in the theater. It's never been that long in between viewings for me (or at least first and second viewings) when it comes to Star Wars. I don't carry grudges when it comes to entertainment. If something is good and it just plain gets to me, then regardless of whatever opinions I have about it I will watch it again. I disagreed with a lot with what was said in The Newsroom, but it was brilliant and I kept coming back. I am old enough to get over simple things, and young enough to be not set in my ways when I view the movie now, almost a year later, with different eyes than what I thought I maybe was expecting back in 2017. ...and it does nothing for me. It doesn't make me curious. I am not mesmerized by the special effects (not in this day and age). Other than the bombs dropping (actually thought that was one of the more moving moments in any Star Wars movie) and Luke's battle with Kylo (which turns out to be fake) there were precious few highlights or memories for me. I just didn't like it. I am not a hater...I am truly and actually envious of some of you. I wish I liked it the way you do.
