  1. He'll get some bullshit non-prison sentence, and then in 2026 when he runs for office again the media will portray it as a "political comeback."

  3. Can't wait until people with garbage bags full of gasoline start complaining they can't return it for a refund.
  4. My feelings on Ellen are complex. On the one hand, she did a great deal of help to the LGBTQ+ community in the 90s in terms of growing acceptance among the cis community. On the other, she is a trash human being, from the sounds of it. Like many historical figures, I guess the correct way to look at it is that she is a complicated person who is a piece of garbage, but ultimately did some things that benefited some people. Man, I had such a huge crush on Anne Heche when I was younger.
  5. In 2023 when this new group supports Trump, the media will report it as "Trump has support across the political spectrum, with two major parties now supporting his candidacy."
  6. I highly recommend Solar Opposites (on Hulu/Disney+, depending where you live) if you like Rick and Morty. It's made by the same people (with similar voice acting), and has the same kind of humour. Really great stuff.
  7. Sorry I should have been a bit more clear - I understand why current politicians need a stance...but I think it's ridiculous that they do. Israel has nothing to do with running a city.
  8. Why the fuck is any stance on Israel required by someone running for mayorship, even in a city as large as New York?
  9. Some of Ford's cabinet should end up in prison over this, but there is a better-than-even chance that Ford wins reelection, even with something like 32% of the vote. The Liberals and NDP are just splitting the left/centre-left vote too efficiently.
  10. Google needs to be broken up and the data legally silo'd between each child company.
  11. For sure. There are many factors at play and there is no simple solution, but the current status-quo shouldn't be allowed to continue forever.
  12. Reversing Trump, US restores transgender health protections APNEWS.COM WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. will protect gay and transgender people against sex discrimination in health care, the Biden administration announced Monday, reversing a Trump-era policy that sought to narrow the scope of legal rights in sensitive situations involving medical care...
  13. The federal government is basically responsible for most services on reserves, where most of the worst living conditions exist.
  14. Though Canada will at some point see a downward bend to the vaccine curve, we aren't approaching it yet (at least compared to where the US was/is at this point). In fact, in most places it is accelerating. I really hope we can top 80% of the population being vaccinated.
  15. Good. Successive federal governments have done very little to better living conditions within Indigenous communities. The current one is doing better than most, but that's not good enough (and is still falling behind their advertised targets). There is no reason, for example, while schools on Indigenous reserves should receive 50% the funding that non-reserve schools receive.
