  1. I finally moved into a place with fiber, now that we bought a house. Internet is through the government in my province, and right now the max speed is 300mb/s, though it's bumping to 1 gig right away. Right now I'm on 150mb/s for about $60/mo.
  2. So if this is legal, could they not just pass a bill saying that only Republicans can run in Texas elections?
  3. In 2022 the GOP House will pass a bill outlawing the removal of people from planes if they are misbehaving.
  4. So basically all of Raimi's villains and some from ASM universe. Wow, big if true. And I'm loving it.
  5. Second doses are also picking up now, but the real story is Canada's rapid (and non-slowing) advancement on first doses administered:
  6. I don't know what will happen (too many factors), but I will predict that the Democrats win the popular vote for the both the House and the Presidency for the next 4 elections. Maybe more. Will they control either part? Hard to determine.

  8. The fact that Lt. Governors are elected separately is...insane. As is electing almost anything outside your local rep.
  9. Even pantsers (writers who don't outline, like Stephen King) will generally tell you that they have the big ideas floating around in their head, and aim for them. So maybe they don't know the scenes that carry the protagonist from the first act to the third, but they know that the bad guy dies in a certain way, or there is a certain scene they have in mind in the middle somewhere, etc. Having some idea of things to aim towards is incredibly helpful. You don't need everything planned, but at least some idea. It would be like writing/shooting a movie and not having the final act written while filming the first and second. It might pay off...but hard to drop hints and foreshadow events if you don't know where it's at least generally heading.
  10. Exactly. It's like, the most exciting part of any franchise is wondering where it goes from the present. You can also get limited excitement for exploring the past. The ST managed to kill both. We now know that anything that happens between the OT and ST is inconsequential, and anything after the ST...doesn't matter, because the characters aren't really that interesting.
  11. Gov’t says most COVID patients in Sask. hospitals haven’t been vaccinated WWW.CKOM.COM There are more than 130 patients currently in Saskatchewan hospitals suffering from COVID-19, and Premier Scot...
  12. I think that's a federal initiative. Or at least, the federal government has announced that an mRNA vaccine production facility will be funded, I believe it was in Toronto.
  13. Was able to deliver a brand new set of iPads to our special needs school today, which was awesome. They've been using some ten-year-old iPads for...ten years, and they are really, really on their last legs. Fortunately our department (IT) was able to fully fund the replacement so the school didn't have to, and we set up a new management system. We are a Windows Enterprise school division (and use Androids normally, when tablets are needed), so setting up the iPads was a bit of a challenge. But glad the kids will get them! Hopefully you are able to contact her and find out that she is okay. Do you live anywhere near her, or know anyone that knows her?
  14. Personally, I think the Constitutional Parliamentary system in the UK (and Canada, etc) is maybe the best modern form of government. So hopefully anyone that ditches the Queen (which is a good thing!) still keeps the overall system, and just replaces her as head of state with someone local and appointed for long-terms (similar to local Governors General in the Commonwealth countries).
