  1. Wondering about this. My parents snow bird in the 6-months of the year. The answer is probably changing their address every 6 months, but what a hassle.
  2. Watched the other week... It was unique, but didn't hit the mark for me and my wife. Was just kind of weird and messed up.
  3. I'm in the Pharmacy Benefit Management industry, have had a non-compete my entire time, they suck.... Super common in the industry even for low level employees. Basically if you want to leave you have to flip back and forth between a PBM, Consultant work, or Health Plans to stay in the industry, but not be in violation. Only other way is like the article said, go burn a year in some other unrelated industry (usually non competes last for a year after leaving company). Working in unrelated industry, especially after you've moved up a bit sucks though since you won't have the industry knowledge you'll likely get paid less, that is if they hire you because they probably can see through you trying to just burn a year. Other thing that sucks is when you apply for jobs, they'll ask if you have a non-compete. A lot of the HR system just automatically flags you if you answer yes, regardless if your particular non compete applies. Doesn't even really impact high leadership, they just violate it, wait for the cease and desist, and then typically the new company will make a deal with the old company to avoid court. Hoping it goes through, would be great for me personally and my industry. Republicans should love it as it's pro-economy/capitalism and Democrats will love it because it's pro-labor. Hopefully there's enough companies that see a benefit of a larger recruitment pool to fight off the lobbying of the companies that see a risk of their underpaid talent leaving now that they have the freedom.
  4. Late 2023? Ughhh... Need it now. Broke down over the holidays and bought all 3 compendiums. Read them all, really fun read. Probably spoiled some things, but I think season one of the show hit the perfect balance of respecting the source material but changing things up a bit and improving it. Mainly the show has time to dive into more details of characters and story that the book might have spent only a page or two on. Really hope Amazon likes the viewing numbers they're getting and they can do the show for a long long time. Hope they also get more efficient with producing the show and we could have 1 new season per year.
  5. As someone else said, even when Republicans figure this out, it's not like they'll be agreeing on much legislatively. Seems like it should be easy for Democrats to frame next election as "Get shit done" party vs "Do nothing" party ... Can disagree on what to get done, but seems like most voters would be anti-status quo. I'm sure Dems will mess up the messaging though.
  6. I've been addicted to this game the last couple of weeks. Reminds me a lot of the boardgame Smashup which I love too. Looking forward to the game continuing to evolve.
  7. Watched tonight, solid flick, enjoyed it, well shot, dig the main character, levels up the franchise. Been awhile I've seen other predators movies, might have to rewatch.
  8. Watched it as well. It's really really solid. We'll acted, love the behind the scene stories of The Godfather, really cool to play in the 70s Hollywood setting, each episode is compelling. Highly recommend it super good. Been meaning to go back and watch the trilogy ever since.
  9. Ummm... They did de-age them in the flashback? You may be saying they didn't do a good job, but they did de-age them, they're just really old... Prequels are almost 20 years old
  10. Building a house, and put money down in December for it. Locked in my interest rate the other week at 5.0%. Kind of sad that I'm actually thankful for that because now it's over 6.0%, but do wish I could have locked in in December lol. We close end of July. Luckily still got a 2nd buyer for existing house this week, as I was worried after the first buyer fell through if that was a sign that the interst rate increases would make it harder to get a buyer. It's crazy what's happening, but if you can get approval, I'd say buy the house. Sounds weird to say, but even with the high costs, still likely better to start building equity than to not. It likely won't be better financially later. Refinance in a couple of years to likely get lower rate or take some equity out to help recover from stretching when you bought, or both. Either interest rates will go down again, or if they don't, you're probably then happy to get 5-6% and not 9%. House prices won't come down significantly any time soon. The growth might slow down, and even if there is a crash, it'll pop back up after a couple of years. Today, a starter home isn't actually a single family home, it's a townhome.
  11. Could not agree more. I hope that when the powers at be eventually let go of the Skywalker saga, they warp a 100+ years and all of the previous Star Wars material is treated just like this, lore, stories, exaggeration. They can then start building a universe where it maintains it's own set of rules, especially around The Force. This way you don't lose those stories we love, but you can kind of do a soft reboot and start grounding the rule beyond plot armor.
  12. I watched Old on HBO Max the other night. I enjoyed it. Not a great movie by any means, but and interesting setup, has emotion/heart at points, fulfilling payoff. A bit predictable, but was entertaining.
  13. I'm digging... It's really showing well that the problems of policing are systematic and aren't just a couple of bad apples .. for one, the system created and encourages those bad apples.
  14. Naive on my part, but really surprised they've killed it. With no consequences on all the stuff the right has done, they seem to just keep on doing what they want, and who can blame them.
  15. Had me check, cause I thought no way episode 6 was the finalie, episode 7 must have launched early! lol. Still two more episodes to go
  16. I bumped into it too. I trust there's more to the choice than the surface. I'm willing to go along for the ride, but I do think it's important that they do a reveal and dive deeper into Luke's approach here. Who is Luke at this moment? This is his first attempt at training, I assume he's just copying what his master's did to him, but he will find his own way. As Ashoka said to him, follow his gut. Ashoka isn't a Jedi anymore either, and likely will have some influence on Luke finding a different path to training the ways of the force. I trust that Filoni and Favreau have an arc and a plan here. If it just ends up being exactly what we saw here, then it's a shame as they're not really explaining how the character got from ROTJ to this point. Heck even the TLJ told the story of why Luke was a lot different 30 years after we last saw him.
  17. Capitalism! but only for companies and the rich... not for employees. Kind of like companies and the rich love Socialism too, but only for themselves and not for the people. Essentially all good stuff goes to the powerful, everyone else gets the shit.
  18. Man I love The Great Escape, seen it so many times. It's one of my go-to 'rainy day'/'Sick day' movies. I had to check because I didn't even think it was close to 3 hours long (it's 8 minutes shy), but it just goes to show you how enjoyable and well paced it all is that you're just along for the ride. Most modern movies probably would end when they break out of prison, but there is really a lot of stuff after that too. Kind of surprised they haven't remade it yet.
  19. Watched it today. Agree with others that Black Knight/Kit Harrington could have been removed. Not that it was bad, bug could have spent that time on other characters. Enjoyed all the history parts, wish they would have done more there. I actually thought they did a good job with the characters. A lot of new ones to balance, but I felt like I got a good sense of who they are in very little time. I'm one who is not sick of MCU and want it to continue for another 20 years, so I was probably going to enjoy it anyways. It's not the best MCU movie, but it was an enjoyable ride. It's pretty deep cuts for comics,so not surprised that it has mixed reviews an it's not really clear how they'll fit in to the main MCU stories if at all
  20. Pretty sure that shot is still in the movie, but that's just a cop and not Charlie Cox
  21. Love there's a date, but yeah that's only technically 'a look'. Really enjoyed both seasons, but honestly for Amazon super hero stuff, I'm more excited about a new season of Invincible, man that was good. I think those are the only two things I've watched on Amazon Prime beyond random movie I'm in the mood for that happens to be on Prime. As other's have said, it's like the last streaming service that I have that I will go to.
