  1. My prediction: The episode ends with the Night King reaching Bran in the Weirwood; he then uses Bran as a medium to parlay with Jon and Dany, and explain that the White Walkers ultimate goal is to eliminate feudalism and the ruling class in Westeros. Jon and Dany are then split on whether or not to stand down. Think about it. The White Walkers were created out of the desperation of war, and the political system in Westeros does nothing but breed war. It would make perfect sense if their ultimate goal is to simply eliminate those institutions. There are also examples of them working with or otherwise ignoring common folk (e.g. Craster).
  2. Or maybe they should be called snowflakes, given that they are equating minor semantics with being 'one of the most persecuted religious groups on the planet'.
  3. Carbonated water or regular water? Because the former will help you feel more full.
  4. Psst, there's a reason why nurses and teachers are such an apt comparison for the point you're making....
  5. You don't, and that's the point. I worked in the campus bookstore in college and movie adaptations always drove tremendous sales, regardless of the quality or content of the adaptation. Most people won't know or care that it is an 'alternative' conclusion, and those that do were the original books fans and thus were going to buy it anyways.
  6. There really is no difference for the purposes of this point, which is that behavior which may otherwise be ignored gets perceived as 'disruptive' simply because it's a child doing it (or otherwise gets overblown). I've watched a lot of Marvel and Star Wars and whatever films over the years, and I can't say I've ever witnessed a child do anything especially aggravating in a theater.
  7. And their parents are paying money too. Obviously there is something to be said about etiquette, but based on some of the rhetoric in this thread, I would be skeptical of how some of you define 'disruptive'. To wit, I'm part of a large craft beer group on Facebook, and one of the never ending arguments is about kids being at breweries. One day, someone made a post bemoaning the presence of unruly kids at the brewery they were currently at...Someone else who was at brewery then posted a (partially covered up) photo of the kids sitting peacefully at the table with their parents, and mentioned that outside of the type of laughter you'd expect out of a child, they had spent the rest of the time quietly coloring and keeping to themselves.
  8. Honestly, sounds like y'all kind of need to get over the fact that children exist and you will be forced to encounter them in public. Don't get me wrong, they annoy the hell out of me too, but you have no more of a right to a preferred theater experience than them or their parents.

  10. I do pretty much all my shopping at Aldi and Trader Joe's. Occasionally I'll go to Giant Eagle for things neither of them carry though.
