  1. I've had Pizza Al's and can confirm it is legit.
  2. I'm not a prude about smoking but goddamn this poster makes me mad. Why does he need a cig in his hand? Why does the Joker even need to smoke? It adds absolutely nothing in terms of characterization, and it doesn't make him look any cooler. I'm 99% sure it's only to give Joaquin a way to smoke on set.
  3. There is something to be gained from simply putting everyone else on edge, even if you don't intend to follow through. It can undermine the opposition's confidence in their own assessments.
  4. Previously posted food truck down at a cool beer garden on the river. Brilliant stuff.
  5. So can you nerds finally tell me if Children of Dune is worth reading? I liked Messiah - in some sense maybe even more than the original (Scytale and Hayt rule). But I don't want to read it if it sucks.
  6. Makes you understand why people used to worship and sacrifice humans to the sun.
  7. Havana Syndrome mystery continues as a lead military investigator says bar for proof was set impossibly high WWW.CBSNEWS.COM Efforts continue to investigate brain injuries suffered by U.S. officials. This is the fourth 60 Minutes Havana Syndrome report and, for the first time, there's evidence of who might be responsible. Normally I would be skeptical of this angle but Christo Grozev isn't a hack.
  8. I know a white boy from South Africa didn't just talk about bad guys building walls...
  9. In terms of broken bones I guess that would make six times.
  10. After re-avulsing my Achilles in September while beginning weight bearing, I started to ween out of the walking boot in early January (already a little longer than I clinically needed to out of precaution). After a few days I saw bruising and a lot of swelling...I sent pictures to the doctor, saw my physical therapist, and he determined it was a midfoot sprain; unexpected but not totally crazy given how long I was in the boot. I went back into the boot for another week or so, then began the weaning from the beginning (an hour a day at a time)...As I weaned I continued to see residual swelling, which my PT said would be expected, and that as long as I didn't see any more bruising I should be good to proceed. That brings the timeline into focus two weeks ago, when I worked my way up to being completely free of the boot - residual swelling, but I hadn't seen more bruising in that time, so I wasn't concerned. Today my ortho took an x-ray and determined I had developed Charcot foot - a rare condition for people with neuropathy (primarily due to diabetes, though not in my case) and that four of my metatarsal bones were broken. So...Back into the boot for two months! I am allowed to walk on it at least, but it is certainly not fun to be that your foot is essentially collapsing in on itself.
  11. That was pretty good, it rules that Denis decided to follow Nolan's footsteps and charm studios into letting him make arthouse popcorn flicks. And even though there are a lot of differences from the book, all of the differences stay true to the essence of the source material - almost like Herbert got a better editor five plus decades ago (and maybe did less shrooms). Just ordered a copy of Messiah so I can read that ASAP.
  12. I only watched clips but at one point he was openly taunting them over the many things they have supported and then backed away from, which was pretty damn funny!
  13. The new Rivian models announced today look absolutely beautiful. I don’t really know much about cars or Rivian’s quality but goddamn this design rules.
  14. You can't even articulate if a ruling for Colorado would have been good for Democrats, so how can you say its naive to point out that it's bad to give them an even easier path? Again, no one said Democrats 'playing by the rules' will prevent Republicans from doing what they do.
  15. No one said it would be preventative, and I think it is far more naive to give bad faith actors even more leverage.
