  1. I tried out some of Athletic Brewing Company’s n/a beer and it’s pretty fucking great! I want to mind my general calorie intake while I’m on one leg, so it’s nice to have a more waistline friendly option for when I want a beer. Highly recommended.
  2. @Jason @CayceG I’m pretty sure both of you would enjoy The Municipalists!
  3. Bad executive game theory relative to a stacked judiciary, the right-wing Border Control (police writ large), and being politically scared of their own shadow.
  4. I’ve finished Supermarket (super meh) and Money (obscenely, stupidly good). Now on to The Municipalists.
  5. I have a big stack of stuff to read while I recover from surgery: Money: The True Story of a Made-Up Thing by Jacob Goldstein Supermarket by Bobby Hall The Municipalists by Seth Fried Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon (re-read; I recently re-read The Crying of Lot 49 and was stunned by how much more I got out of it, so I want to re-read GR to see if the same pattern holds)
  6. There should only be buffs/nerfs if there are significant imbalance issues in PvP; implementing them for PvE content is lame as hell.
  7. There's a food truck that does Jewish deli food, trending toward a pastrami sandwich.
  8. Quite reassuring. No it is still quite funny.
  9. We actually had a Freschetta frozen pizza (pepperoni) yesterday because we had to run errands and given everything going on my wife said fuck it. Surprisingly good! Quite comparable to lower-tier delivery. Going out to a brewery tonight to watch the USWNT.
  10. I'd imagine the latter since a miss is a miss; the distance is just for context/perspective. Bigger deal that we never saw it coming.
  11. It's all about scale though; he's right that most astronomers would view 60k as reeeeeeeally close.
  12. MRI didn't show what we were hoping; my Achilles is approximately 90% detached from the bone. I'll be having surgery afterall!
  13. Greta Gerwig is the real deal, I knew this was a winner the whole way.
  14. A lot better. Got to see some friends over the weekend and get out of the house for a bit courtesy of a borrowed wheelchair, so that was nice. I also got a knee scooter today which has made it phenomenally easier to get around. Still a bit in limbo in terms of recovery...When I saw my actual doctor, he decided he wanted to have an MRI done - and he was pretty optimistic based on actually seeing me that I might avoid surgery. I had it done yesterday and have a phone appointment with him Thursday; the results in my medical portal say there's no Achilles rupture (the main thing that would dictate surgery), so I'm hoping between that and his less-than-urgent timing that I won't need surgery.
  15. I already have neuropathic pain in my feet so
  16. Saw the PA today (surgeon is on paternity leave until next week)...She still needs the doctor's opinion, but it's looking like I will need surgery because the tendon partially ruptured when the fracture happened. They're going to hook me up with a knee scooter and psychiatrist though.
  17. Happy to report I have now had my first emotional meltdown about the fact I took a step and a bomb went off. I can’t stop thinking about the sound it made.

  19. My current client is a bank, and the FDIC has insanely strict rules for what targeting can be based on (we can’t even target age ranges it is that strict). Not an apples to apples comparison but these guys are probably fucked.
