They said they were hoping or aiming or some language like that for 2022 on BOTW. Wouldn’t bet my life on it. Def would be late in the year at least.

I think I’ll wait until it’s fleshed out a bit and then swindle some friends to play it with me.

I think this game looks really cool but I don’t have enough time right now to dive into another huge time sink.

For some reason I really like that sonic box art and I was like, you know, a sonic RPG maybe WOULD be kinda dope. But that gameplay snapped me out of it.

I missed the Ryckert bit. That is great.

Agree to disagree I guess. When he dominates the discussion as much as he has the last 4 weeks or so, I think less Jeff is just what the doctor ordered, even when I agree with him.

Because it turns into multiple 5 minute Jeff soliloquies every pod where he talks in circles and you end up only really hearing his perspective on a game. I love Jeff Gertsmann, appreciate and respect him. But the pod is a worse product at this time, I think they’re finding their footing. Doesn’t mean it won’t improve.

I like them all in a vacuum I just don’t think they vibe super great, but bakalar had such a natural chemistry with Vinnie and Alex so perhaps I’m holding them to too high a standard. I do think Jeff needs to be balanced out though.

I noticed earlier gertsmann hadn’t liked or sent well wishes to the project. I wonder if he is a little bit upset / feels betrayed. I feel bad for him because I’m sure he doesn’t want to leave his baby, but I currently don’t feel great about the state of Giant Bomb and the chemistry of the current group. It has been a lot of gertsmann, and I enjoy listening to him a lot, but he does best when someone is there to challenge him or reign him in. Ryan Davis was so good at that. On the other hand I am just so happy about this new project, I for some reason didn’t expect them all to work together.

I have a hunch it is probably not all that bad. It certainly sounds like maybe they were not able to make all the content they wanted to make, but I wonder if the pandemic showing them they could create something remotely + burnout and the desire to do something new was just enough to get them to do it. If only they had gotten Bakalar…

Summoner for PS2 came to mind. Zone of the Enders 1-2 for that matter but they are certainly more popular. I feel like the Xenosaga games are kind of forgotten RPGs. Croc Legend of the Gobbos maybe was never known to begin with but I thought that was a delightful platformer in its day.

Did David Cage tell them to imagine a watergate scenario but that in this case Nixon was the bad guy?

Generally it does control like a skyrim game but it doesn’t really feel like a skyrim game to me. Honestly it feels like I’m playing Diablo in a way, cuz all your moves have cool downs and whatnot. You only use your weapon when you’re waiting for cool downs. However one awesome thing the game has going for it is it’s fully voiced, which is mind blowing when you think about it. And honestly the flow of the quests and quality of them very much does feel like an es game.

Don’t tempt him. Would be more than happy with $5.

After much thought and consideration, I think I would like a little steam cash. I recently re-upped FF14 and want to eventually get the Shadowbringer and possibly then Endwalker, but I'm only on Heavensward so it's not really worth getting Shadowbringer yet in case I can't get it done by the time Endwalker comes out, which will include Shadowbringer but not until it's out. So if nothing else it can fund my questing for a few months. That is very confusing probably and not worth reading. FF14 has been just kind of a big stress relief for me a few times in the past year and it's very kind of you to continue to do stuff like this. So truly, thank you.
