The "definitive" version of Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, comes out sometime in 2020 for NA and EU, and this year in October for Japan. There are a bunch of added features and a few new characters that aren't in the original version of the game. The story is also "updated" so that might mean there are significant story differences between the two. I recommend waiting for Persona 5 Royal at this point, especially as P5R's version of events and characters will most likely be the official canon.

It's been standard for a while to make them stick out, and while I've never found it offensive, I do prefer the blue. I remember when it was green on the PS1, but that would look too much like Xbox colors now. :p 

 

The one red I really dug, though obviously not the same, was the Bloodborne GOTY edition which I bought a few years back when they made it the background, complete with Lady Maria on the bottom:

I was on the Playstation Store and thought I just saw that Royal edition you mentioned. But nope it was the Ultimate Edition on sale for $50 haha. Can't keep all these editions straight

It's not that expensive if you wanted it cheap, though if someone has PS Now, it's better to just play it there. I'm good at no racing games and it was wasted on me when I played the PS+ version four years ago.
