I guess part of the new recent patch they added new hairstyles. Here's what they look like. I forgot about it so I haven't been to a mirror to look yet.

Already level 26 but um...how do you summon assistance through co-op? I have the finger I think I need but it won't let me choose it? I'm at a boss fog door and want help. What am I missing here?

Yes, I finally created a summoning sign but nobody is coming to help. What happened was I lost wifi connection a few minutes ago. The home I live in now disconnects me all the fucking time. It really fucking blows.

Don’t you have to find signs left by other people to summon them? If you make a sign, that allows people to pull you into their world to help them. At least that’s how it worked in earlier games, but I don’t remember actually doing either in ER, so I’m not much help.

Well nobody came to help so I got naked so I could move really fast. I then summoned my wolves and I beat the boss.

 

My question is, how important is armor? I litteraly owned the boss naked. Before that, I was fully armed and moved so slow which killed me. 

 

Edit: I litteraly ran through two sections I was previously struggling with but came back naked and absolutely destroyed every enemy. Armor? Wtf...

Like we were talking about earlier. Fashion Souls. Not too important if you can roll well.

 

Some armor do give you minor stat bonuses though (like specific equipment will give you a mind boost or something) so something like that could be worth wearing if you want a little extra.

I had it mostly right from memory, but I forgot you have to use an item to get summon signs to pop up - Furlcalling Finger Remedy

There are a few summons you can get early  that are very OP. The marionette soldiers I think they're called dont do crazy damage but they can stun/interrupt enemies including bosses.

I litteraly played this game from 10am until just now, 6pm. I completely forgot just how stunning and addicting this game is. I knew I said it was GOTY after beating Ragnarok but this is easily in my top 10 of all time. What an achievement.

Killed 3 bosses this morning. Woke up at 2am to play lol.

In 2 days I've reached level 47 and have killed at least 7 bosses. I'm absolutely on a roll right now. Sucks the Witcher comes out on Wednesday because I'm sticking with this until I finally beat it.

Beat Godrick this evening. He is devastating but my summon went to work. I took cheap shots but at level 51 I couldn't hold a candle to him alone. This game is fuckin difficult for sure.

The funny thing, when I finally did Stromveil castle I had skipped it and done Liurnia of the Lakes so by the time I got to him he wasn't too difficult.

Thinking back on it, I think I summoned for maybe 5-6 bosses, and I did tons of optional ones in a pretty complete run. Thats like what maybe 90 minutes or content I needed summons to pass out of my 150 hour run.

 

Seems to me it wouldn’t be a hard to have a mode where those maga hard bosses are just lower difficulty so I don’t need summons and then the whole game could have been solo’d with the challenge remaining the same elsewhere and thus getting the same experience for the vast majority of the game. It was fine at the time, but I don’t know how well it would work if I hadn’t played right at launch with tons of people to easily summon and get me past them.

 

 I hear Souls fans refer to those kind of bosses as “skill checks” which okay fine but I know I don’t have any skill, that’s an easy fix to tone down those in a mode for players who aren’t that great at games.

I'd consider myself a Souls fan and the only way I refer to some of the main bosses in Elden Ring is bullshit. In my opinion at least, From seems to have run out of ideas how to really make bosses increasingly difficult so they decided to make essentially every boss a jack of all trades. Massive AoE, elemental damages, projectiles, fast combo chains, mega-jumps if you gain distance on them and so forth. Summons feel like a bandaid to distract their ultra-aggressive good-at-everything AI so you can get some cheap shots in. They're more exhausting and belligerent than challenging. Going back to playing Demon's Souls remake was an eye-opener as to how far they've ratcheted up the boss difficulty since.

I can’t believe that! They definitely seem to just spam everything in the world at you all at once and seem dangerously close to input reading at times. Some of the ones at the end I used summon on I just played once and saw it was bullshit and summoned. One of the last ones, the black blade, I could see I could get close but he was bullshitting me in the second phase and I just couldn’t be bothered at that point.

I've ranted about it on here before but the Gargoyles fight is a perfect example. The size of the arenas often makes things worse because you end up sprinting for a solid 10 seconds to get anywhere near the boss, have enough stamina for one hit and a stone gargoyle the size of a house hops 50ft to the side to dodge that one strike you had left in you just...because lol. Like I said, I just found the spammy "jack of all trades" bullshit exhausting about halfway through the game.

Reached level 70 today and I'm still weak af. I mean at what level can I feel comfortable roaming the world?

 

I'm currently stuck at Red Wolf of Radagon and he absolutely destroys me. Every time I summon for help nobody shows up.

Level 82 now and feeling pretty strong in Limgrave. Killed 3 more bosses today.

 

I was playing Ragnarok earlier this morning and then this. What immediately strikes me is how artists and huge this world is. What an achievement. Slow burn because I play like an hour a day on this. So I make sure I advance the game some how in that hour.

Hit level 87 which I was what I was on Xbox.

 

Where and how did you guys gather enough runes to level up without farming?

Take down the bosses in catacombs, caves, and evergaols. Anytime you get enough runes to level up, use them so you don't lose them. Usually save a few golden runes to use if I'm not quite close enough to leveling up.

 

You should be having an easier time, but the enemies will get tougher.  Make sure your weapon is leveled up, and put most points into health to keep you alive.

Chipping away at this again. I finished the Ranni quest, finished the Fia quest and forget rotten breath, frozen breath is the new hotness!

Also someone haxed the latest update apparently and could see that RT AO and RT shadows are being added (they promised a ray tracing patch for this which I kind of forgot about) I’m assuming this goes live with an expansion.

 

If nothing else I can see this making some beautiful screenshots!

 

I just really hope along with that they add shader precompile because that’s what I really want for the expansion

Started the game a week or two ago. I'm 31 hours in and absolutely loving it.  I haven't felt this way about a game for years. I've spent at least half that time just picking a direction and exploring. Can you believe it took me 30 hours in to figure out how to summon spirits to help you out? I guess I missed some witch lady at an early spawn point who gives you the spirit bell. Just figured I couldn't summon anything because I'm a samurai haha. Last night I thought I have to be missing something, Google it and I could buy the bell at the roundtable from a witch lady.

I lost track of how many random bosses/mini bosses I encountered and beat. Some of the bosses that are huge and ridiculous looking turn out to be not that hard.  Like the Ulcerated Tree Spirit seemed crazy. And today I took down the Glintstone Dragon Smarag.  Both of those big dudes you just had to find the right spot near their feet to avoid most damage.
