Absolutely. That "just one more hit" is my downfall most of the time really. Once I dialed it back on Godrick and just kept my cool, I actually took him down fairly quickly.

I just beat Godric with my mage, at a far lower level than my vanguard, and it was far easier.

Anyone claiming From doesn't have an easy mode hasn't played Astrologer. My Vanguard was Level 45 when he beat him. My Astrologer is 33. Both 7 potions. (5fp/2hp for the Astrologer, 7hp for Vanguard). My Astrologer barely took a hit except from fire once, my Vanguard had one flask left in total when Godric fell.

So I just realized that I totally forgot to customize my Estus loadouts for Godrick, holy shit. I could've struggled so much less lol. I had it on 3x health and 2x magic.

I doubt it's maxed. It goes to +25. But there are more rare weapons out there that have a lower maximum. I think its 6. You just need higher quality smithing stones, whick are an obtuse mess, because nothing differentiates the quality besides which slot it's in. It is what it is.

What kind of sword are you using? What kind do you want?

You're correct then. My broadsword can no longer be upgraded because it doesn't show up when I go to the smithing table. I love my sword but I'll keep looking for a better one. I'm just not sure where to find good swords and vendors that I've ran into don't sell any swords better than mine.

When you've exhausted the smithing table out in the world, you can upgrade higher given you have the proper materials at the actual blacksmith at the Roundtable.

You need to talk to the roundtable smith, and need the right shards. Then you'll see it again.

Edit: Wondrous Physic with damaga negation is lit. I might take away the restore half health bauble, and put in either a stamina or strength bauble to it, if thats a possibility at my next bonfire.

Im about to go back into the castle, because theres something I know I missed, then im off to Liurna.

Also, if anyone needs guidance by level, heres a conservative "location by level" list.

Both of you might want this list, its helped me. It separates every area by level.

so i was going through the first major legacy dungeon last night (stormveil) and i took the side path and not through the front gate.  i cant for the life of me figure out how to work backwards and get down to the lower levels as i know there are other grace sites and i think some golden seed sites.

the lowest i was able to figure out how to get down to was the room with the big crab looking thing with the sword arms

Will likely require a player to do NG++ to see everything (all endings, all quest lines, all bosses, all weapons/items/armors, etc.) You should be able to experience the overwhelming majority of the game on the first run though, so people shouldn't feel compelled to do NG+ or NG++ as the first run is a full experience by any reasonable metric. I fully expect to get 300 to 500 hours between multiple characters (I always do at least 2 different PvE and 1 PvP build in these types of games), NG+ and PvP.

This game seems to be stingier with Runes (Souls) than previous games, even in high level areas a lot of enemies barely give anything. It may be by design though to force players to just play through the game and head straight to NG+ where the drops are usually much higher in quantity. Around level 100 you're already spending like 70K per level and there just really isn't any reliably efficient farming method worth spending time on that late in the game on the first run.

Btw, if anyone is specifically interested in PvP'ing, the community standard has always been stopping a PvP focused character between levels 125 and 150.

I have been grinding this area near the beast dude. The one you feed undead to. There are these enmies that drop 1k runes. So as of late I beat a miniboss and go there to hit the next level.

Has the community determined a PVP? Invasions seem to be the only way to really guarentee PVP and I feel dirty doing it.

Even still, you're going to get to a point where it's like 70-80K runes for a single level the closer you get to 100. That's going to be a ton of monotonous farming and it's pretty much the games way of saying "You need to beat me and get to NG+ so you can actually get good experience.

To elaborate beat a boss then grind to hit the next level. It's what I learned from Sekiro. It takes time but better to spend that time and keep your runes. But I have never gone past level 101 so I can see at some point NG plus is better. Even then that area is gonna be useful.

You weren't transported there by that girl yet?

You can fast travel there from lower left hand corner, if you've been there.

The sword from Castle Morne is badass, unfortunately its 40str, and im 32. Definitely the strongest weapon I've found so far.

Fast travel to the lift site, go out the door toward the courtyard barricade. Turn right, then right again. You can do some platforming to get down to the very bottom.

Damn i don't think I've even found that one.  I got the one outside the back way before going up the stairs and then the one up in the tower

Can you be more specific in how to get there?

I cant. If the girl hasn't taken you there yet, I have no idea why. It happened really early for me. She transported me from a grace sight, different ones with both characters.

I think the girl did take me there but I forget where it is.

Just go south. It's pretty much the southernmost point on your map in Weeping Peninsula. (Castle Morne)

Edit: Regarding Round Table, you have to beat the first story boss and rest at a site.

Who is the first story boss? Sorry if I'm being annoying I'm just such a noob with this type of game.

You can only telepprt there. Bottom left corner of the map. Click on the circle.

Margit is the first real story boss, then Godric.

I listened to Dan Ryckert's Fire Escape podcast today, and between all of their Elden Ring praise, and all of the praise in this thread....... I might be making a purchase tonight.....

I'm not soulsborne guy. I tried both DS1 and DS2 and dropped off like an hour in. This games open world design makes it addicting. You know you have to level up to beat a boss so you wander around the world to grind only to be lead on mini adventures and before you know it, 8 hours have gone by. Definitely recommend picking it up. It's like a mature version of Breath of the Wild. And I didn't like Breath of the Wild
