How do we flip Texas blue?

How do we neutralize Texas?

1) Use the Fed to lawsuit them to death.

2) Lock up other actual swing states by remaking the courts to kill gerrymandering.

The main thing that keeps the GOP in power is the courts which in turn allows highly biased maps. The GOP is so entrenched in Texas I don't see anything changing with  them for a very long time, even if they somehow manage to elect a dem governor/lt governor.

A couple of seats in Alabama became tossups after the Fed forced them to redraw the map.

I've heard people say to wait until the 2030s or 2040s. Between climate change and Republicans going all-in on fascism, we might not have that long to wait.

Reminder that Texas is nowhere near as red as Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, North Dakota, Kentucky, or West Virginia, which have all elected a Democrat to statewide office.

Dude, your fantasy of turning Texas Blue is just that, a fantasy. You ask this over and over, and people’s response doesn’t change. Texas IS a red state.

Nobody thought Georgia would flip blue, but it did.

Goergia was a very specific case of awful candidates. Same as PA, a potato could have beaten Oz, but if GOP hadn’t run an out of touch fool who humiliated himself multiple times Fetterman would have probably been destroyed. Goergia was another case of awful candidates.

A brain dead, pathological liar came extremely close to winning against Warnock.

Texas isn’t full of bumbling fools, you’re comparing apples to oranges.

Do you think Warnock would have lost comfortably to a slightly better candidate?

Georgia has a significantly higher Black population than Texas; it has and has a slightly higher educational attainment (which makes a difference at the margins); Georgia also has far, far fewer 'swingy' Hispanic voters and despite a lower percent of the population living in an urban area because a higher proportion of those rural voters are Black. Being a slightly smaller state, population wise, also helps to a certain degree

it's really that simple to understand at a high level

Texas actually has the highest Black population.

No, I don't mean a pro-Second Amendment candidate.

I mean an actual firearm, preferably a semi-automatic of some sort that uses at least 5.56mm rounds (preferably 7.62mm) and goes by the name of "Dusty".

You have opened Pandora's Box.

Texas's suburbs are getting bluer.

Collin County, a suburb of Dallas, went from going 19.5 points to Abbott in 2018 to only 10.1 points in 2022, a 9.4 point decrease. Abbott won Fort Bend County, a suburb of Houston, by .2 points in 2018. Beto won Fort Bend County by 4.7 points in 2022. Hays County, a suburb of Austin, went to Valdez by 2 points in 2018. It went to Beto by 10.8 points in 2022.

The idea that Texas isn't trending blue is frankly, ludicrous.

tbh, you’re right. Many here are correct as to why it’s not competitive yet, but the idea that it’s a fairy tale dream is based on nothing — there’s clearly been a shift.

I mean, I'm not saying that Texas turning blue is just around the corner. I'm just saying that the trends favor Democrats.
