  1. The tone of the story wasn’t that great, the gameplay whilst challenging didn’t have an interesting hook (they mentioned there were limited types of side quest, which made me think of Prototype which I really enjoyed for about 10 hours then became bored) and overall Jan and Jeff both mentioned they just didn’t think it was great That’s just two opinions though and I’d be interested to hear from D1P members
  2. I was going to buy this for my wife but listening to the Giant Bomb impressions I’m massively put off.
  3. I’m getting close to wrapping film around my PS4 and only having a small gap for our hoover to create a vacuum, then just see if it will clear all the debris inside it. The only concern naturally is it totally fucks it up but Jesus when playing TLoU2, we have to have the TV about 10 bloops higher
  4. I’m going to steal a little bit of our plot purely to grow herbs as it’s so much nicer when cooking
  5. Potatoes tomatoes carrots leeks spring onions courgettes cucumbers lettuce basil blueberries French beans runner beans we rented a plot so giving a few things a go
  6. 1998 and 2004 were always the two years that I felt had stupidly good line ups. RE4, MGS3 and HL2 make it incredible on their own.
  7. https://www.thegamer.com/n64-video-games-look-amazing-forgot/ There are some N64 games that I still play and don't find horrific to look at, but I do really wish I had a CRT to play them on rather than a 1080p television. Worse as I have a decent one at my parents house but my wife is adamant we aren't having it in our house as it would clutter the place up...(half the reason why, when we eventually move, I would love a loft conversion where I can stash my older consoles and a TV to play them on)
  8. A guy in my year installed UT on all the school computers so every IT lesson for the year was one big LAN party
  9. This thread reminds me I need to nag for more hours for next week and maybe this week
  10. i'm less about the overpowering heat but rather peppers that have an incremental, building heat. Sichuan style.
  11. Never IGN however about five or so times
  12. You can always make your own thread with the more specific title "What was the best game released from when you turned 18 until one day before you were 19".
  13. I would like to see the same TV to handheld link, without a dock. Then the natural progression of more powerful specs to keep things ticking along. I don't necessarily know whether I'd want to the controller to be detachable as with the Switch, just to create a more solid system overall.
  14. Bioshock Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Crysis Halo 3 Super Mario Galaxy Portal/Orange Box Mass Effect Rock Band Guitar Hero 3 Uncharted: Drake's Fortune God of War 2 My personal choice (today) goes to Bioshock as the first 360 game that I completed...it was a fantastic story to play through. Good lord though, that is an amazing list of games to choose from.
  15. There's a series that needs to go away for a good while and come back with a fresh experience.
  16. It's nice to see a representation of a truly beautiful part of UK culture in video game form. It's one of the few mediums that can really tell this kind of visceral, evocative (dare I say, relatable) narrative in a sensitive manner.
  17. Do the right thing, tell everyone that you are getting migraines due to screen time so state you will attend audio in an audio only fashion then do anything else at the same time
  18. I initially thought I'd love a remake of Dead Space (or a Remaster of the trilogy) but I feel like the game design of "go here, get that, fight them, return back, oh no it went wrong, go there..." would be a bit frustrating now. A reboot would be the right option for the series.
  19. Finished The Long Take (which was great) and now reading The Testaments, which so far is better than The Handmaid's Tale. I also have a copy of There's a Boy in the Girls Bathroom which is my classes book in September, so I'll read that in the next week or so (probably in one sitting). After that, I need to have a look at my Amazon basket and decide which books to buy/read as I've stashed about 10 teaching related books on their and need to decide as they're in the £180 mark for all of them.
  20. I really enjoyed the first season (the first and last anime that I've enjoyed since DBZ). It's a shame that the other seasons haven't made it on to Netflix.
  21. I loved Until Dawn and Man of Medan was such a disappointing experience (for the price especially). I'll be holding off from buying this until it's received a decent level of good feedback. Such a shame as the concept for these games is wonderful and a great experience to share with people, it's just a shame that the narrative didn't hold up last time.
  22. Just out of interest, what would you rate Yooka-Laylee? I've always been close to picking it up, but the general consensus always seemed to be middling (at least for the first game).
  23. I haven't had any meat or fish since Marsh 2018 and I won't lie, I do miss things like burgers, shredded beef, slow cooked meats and shellfish. I'm debating whether to return back to eating just fish, mainly to support recovery and to give me a bit more of a diverse diet, but I keep going back and forth. I'm confident I won't eat meat, with the principles of it being a blend of environmental consideration, farming/slaughter practice and the general idea of ending life...and it's hard to not place that same rationalisation onto fish, despite the different methods of catching (it's still something dying, en masse, so I can eat it).
