  1. make sure you are doing all the hostage rescues, public executions and so on that you come across, they give decent XP
  2. triple movie saturday Midnight Special I went in blind and recommend you do as well. All i will say is that is a good movie and you should give it a watch 8/10 Aquaman well it is better than batman vs superman and justice league but those are very low bars to clear. The last 20 minutes or so was wonderfully over the top, wish the rest of the movie was like it. There sure was a lot of lava underwater 5.5/10 Into the Spiderverse loved it, the writing was hilarious, characters are fantastic. The animation style with the comicbook panels and word bubbles was outstanding, the low frame rate annoyed the hell out of me though. 9/10
  3. Of fucking course the red angel is related to burnham because why wouldn't it be. I swear the Burnham's are more critical to the discovery universe than the Skywalker's are to star wars. What is going on with Tilly this season? Last year she was the young rookie with a kind of quirky personality that wanted to be commanding officer at some point now she is completely unprofessional and can't even get a single sentence out without going on a "goofy I guess we are supposed to find this endearing" tangent. Burnham is an emotional wreak every episode, Tilly got completely Flanderized, it is like the writers turned everyone up to 11. Pike seems to be barely around now and he was easily the best part of the show. This episode might be my tipping point.
  4. Troy the director's cut all 185 minutes of it and that is not counting the ending credits. There is some old school grand hollywood movie making here saddled with a lot of bad dialogue and occasionally odd performance moments, Peter O'toole faints like a woman overcome by the vapors at one point, it is supposed to be this extremely dramatic moment but I just laughed my ass off. The battle scenes are solid but often just seem to end, the one on one fights are well done. The sacking of Troy is probably wee a lot of stuff got put back in because it is pretty brutal. 6.5/10
  5. I gave it up a few years ago and don't miss it. I just poison myself with alcohol now like a proper adult
  6. just an FYI, make sure you visit your captured control points ever 24 hours, the supply rooms restock except for the large chest
  7. anyone else having issues with the brightness in the game? At night or in some interior areas I can't see shit and during the daylight parts my monitor is burning my eyes out.
  8. looks like volumetric fog is the biggest frame rate killer out there in terms of the looks to performance ratio. Dropping it from ultra to medium looks almost the same and can give you a double digit improvement in fps
  9. Time Freak movie about traveling back in time to unfuck a relationship, kind of creepy when you think about the manipulation aspect. 5.5/10 grosse pointe blank never saw it before, enjoyed it 7.5/10
  10. I wouldn't count anything that happens in the books or comics that could be turned into EU style legends from star wars at a moments notice. Data wasn't built by the federation or starfleet he was made by a slightly crazy genius operating on his own and based on how starfleet treated Data in measure of a man and Lal in the offspring it is clear that advanced AI are not high on their list of protected species.
  11. never downloaded the epic store and guess I never will
  12. This episode answers a lot of questions not just about what is going on in this season but where the hell is advanced AI and automation in later Trek but raises some troubling issues. So Control is the start of powerful AI gone bad and probably the worst example that the federation will run into with M-5 from TOS being a relatively minor in comparison. So 2 major problems with AI one of which is potentially galactic annihilation level bad over the course of 10 years or so, that could definitely turn starfleet off of AI for a long long time, that would explain why we don't see it in the TNG era even though the computers seemingly are capable of creating it with Moriarty. Now for Airiam, how much of her was still human? She has to download her memories periodically to make room implying that her brain is not organic, so is her whole head machinery? I guess she has lungs still since she can't survive in a vacuum but it really seems like there is not much human in there at all and this goes miles beyond anything we ever see again in Trek again, even the Borg aren't anywhere near this level of replacement parts. Is the technology banned like I'm going to assume advanced AI will be? If so does that mean the federation is actively allowing people to die from major injuries that could be saved?
  13. Strange Days Had never seen this one before. Released in 1995 and set in the far flung future of 1999 where you can download and experience people's memories. Hidden cuts in "long" takes are quite common now but they must have been fairly mind blowing in this film when it was released. The story and characters are decent, overall a solid film. 7.5/10 Southbound A horror anthology telling 5 stories. As with most anthologies the quality varies from part to part. 6.5/10
  14. This guy's manifesto is all over the place, hard to pin down other than a racist piece of shit
  15. looks better than the teaser but this along with many other things do not need to be remade
  16. I'm surprised they showed smiling Spock from the Cage recap, that is one of the hardest to mental gymnastic headcannon parts of the original pilot before they combined the characters of Spock and Number One
  17. after about a 14 hour day I still had 60% on my battery
