  1. For those comparing what Rachet and Clank is doing to Phychonauts 2 or Titanfall 2, I would highly suggest watching the Digital Foundry review on it. Here is a short clip where the specifically compare it to Titanfall 2: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxve5jLRCCa2MLvrojfN1IH3SsXnFl2lmb
  2. Loved the betas. And I knew I was probably gonna be suckered into buying the more expensive season pass, so I splurged on the $100 edition which included it. Can't wait to dive into it on Thursday.
  3. VERYYYYY curious how they are going to handle loading transitions on PC. The ability to instantly load a whole new level is an essential gameplay mechanic to this game, and something that seemed only possible on the PCIe-Gen4 SSD that the PS5 has. Maybe this will be the first PC game to actually require DirectStorage?
  4. Most reviews and community responses seem to agree. There is a solid game here that is unfortunately barred behind an outrageous microtransaction structure, which seems especially bad considering the younger audience that will likely be playing this game. I hope that the response to the game will trigger a revamp of their monetization model, but it's 2K so im not holding my breath.
  5. I just got into this game game a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing. I can't put it down. Had this happen last night: imgur.com IMGUR.COM Discover the magic of the internet at Imgur, a community powered entertainment destination. 6. This was my fav game demo I played during this Next Fest event: Fabledom on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM Once upon a Village.. Set in a wholesome fairytale world, Fabledom is the ideal laid back City builder. Enjoy the growth of your settlement, trade and use diplomacy to ally or challenge your neighbors, and most importantly, find yourself a prince or princess and live happily ever after!
  7. I haven't had a chance to play this one yet, but it's made by the devs that did Skyhill, and im pretty hype on it: I Am Future: Cozy Apocalypse Survival on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM You're alone on a skyscraper roof in a flooded city. Welcome to the coziest post-apocalypse ever. Build, craft, farm, fish, cook -- with a view.
  8. Sure. I wasn't trying to argue that we all need to be making sure our money always goes towards "good" people. My issue was more that whenever I, or anyone, brings up that I don't wanna buy this game, people often say "separate art from the artist". And that in cases where a person doesn't want to support that artist, it's perfectly acceptable to not buy that art. I'm fully aware that this game is still gonna sell like hotcakes, and that my lack of a purchase will be imperceivable. But hell, how many times have gamers used the phrase "vote with your wallet"? That's basically all I'm doing.
  9. I fully agree with enjoying art, and separating art from the artist. My issue is: If in order to enjoy that art, I have to pay money, and a portion of that money then goes to the artist, then there isn't a great way to separate it. That said, this is just what I'm choosing to do. I don't hold any ill will towards anyone that wants to enjoy this game. I just think people use the "separate the art from the artist" line far too often when the artist is still getting paid.
  10. With you on that. I still have a lot of love for the Harry Potter books, movies, and overall lore. And I have a lot of hype for this game. However, I wont be buying it as I don't wanna do anything that could give JKR any profit.
  11. I've only had a chance to play it for about an hour. And overall I feel like there is a fun game somewhere in here. However my main concern so far is traveling the world. It seems slow and clunky. Grappling hooking from roof to roof isn't as satisfying as I hoped it'd be. And the motorcycle drives around 15MPH. Does traversal end up feeling better once you unlock the "heroic" moveable ability (am assuming that's the ability that lets you glide)?
  12. I had the opportunity to stream it for a few hours today. It's a blast. If you liked the original, this one is better in almost every way.
  13. Depends. If im streaming, 4-6 hours. If im not, maybe 1-2 hours. Lately it's been hard for me to get in my own personal play time.
  14. Honestly, with how good their Guardians of the Galaxy game was, I'd rather they just make more GotG games.
  15. It's a pretty solid catalog. And as someone that has already been a PS+ subscriber for years, I'm happy for the upgrade. But when this was first announced, I was most excited for the catalog of classic titles, and that seems to be very lacking in this announcement. In fact, they don't mention a single PS2 title... which seems odd?
  16. I'm loving the game so far. But, one of my biggest issues with the game is it's new camera. In the previous lego games the camera was almost overhead, so you could easily see a large area of the levels and find the collectables. In this game, the camera is more like a 3rd person over-the-shoulder view, and the FOV is really tight. So it makes it takes more effort to look in every area, and make sure you've explored everything.
  17. That's incredible. The facial animations, the hair, the eyes. It's amazing that this ran in real time.
  18. Too bad. At least the System Shock remake from Nightdive is looking pretty good and should be coming out this year. System Shock remake is coming in 2022, so here's 15 all-new screens | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Nightdive is teaming up with Koch Media's new Prime Matter division to bring the game out next year.
  19. Graphics are only one part of PS4 vs PS5. The PS5's new SSD opens up a whole world of freedom when it comes to level design and amount of data that can be pushed. Take the new Rachet and Clank for example. Because they knew the knew the game would only be played using the PS5's SSD, they could build gameplay mechanics where literally the WHOLE WORLD changes around the player in less than a frame. And they could do that because the SSD was fast enough to support loading that world data that quickly. However, if they also had to support the PS4, then that is a gameplay mechanic that would never have been considered. It just wouldn't have made it into the game at all. God of War 2018 already did incredible things in terms of scale. The World Snake was amazing, for example. But I can't help but imagine how much more amazing these large scale things could be on the PS5, if it didn't also have to run on the PS4. God of War 2018 also did plenty of clever "walking through a tight space" things to hide level loading. And if the new game only had to be on PS5, that would be unnecessary, and the level designers could explore making levels in new ways. But sadly we are likely going to see those same level design tricks, since this game also has to run on PS4.
  20. I'm hyped for Ragnarok. But a little sad we wont get to see what they could have made if they didn't have to also support the PS4.
  21. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 was always one of my favs. I never played it on Switch, so I dunno how well it runs on that. But I love how many different characters are in that one, and the wacky world. It's great.
  22. That's the first thing that came to my mind. I played the MGS2 tanker demo a TON of times. Then the full game came out and everything after the tanker was... different.
