I was probably the right age for Hey Arnold! when that came out so yeah, this commercial was just perfect and hilarious to me. Watched it multiple times, kids thought it was hilarious and are now quoting “throw the child” every chance they get.
This generation's "Kick the baby!" ?

I'm still pretty thoroughly addicted to Counter-Strike 2.

so if I were to keep the 4090 , and im buying a monitor anyway, it would make sense to get a 4K monitor. any reason (other than size) why I wouldn’t just go for a 42” C3?
HUGE mistake. It will ruin all other monitors for you that aren't OLED.

The article says "more than 400 episodes", but I still laughed.
I didn't realize this before but Waterston is 83 years old! I find it pretty impressive to still be so active in your career at that age; hopefully he has many good years ahead of him to enjoy his full retirement.

Long story. But when I lost my job and benefits I could no longer see them. They never once called me in 3 months wondering how I was doing. I'm on serious medication and they gave zero fucks about me.
Plus, when I visited him he would ask the same fuckin questions each visit as though I was a new patient. He is 75yrs old and extremely delusional. He is a hardcore conservative and would preach to me every visit about what the left is doing wrong.
He and his wife are only out for money and it's disgusts me.
Yeah sounds like he needs to retire and continue to sink into his Fox News hellhole.
Good for you for recognizing the issues there and doing something about it; that's huge!

Tech sector is laying off people because they hired too much based on the tech boom caused by Covid lockdowns.
I was one of the people hired by a tech company during the COVID expansions. Just in my immediate team of around 15, in the last year and a half we've lost 4, and my company in general lost several thousand employees. I think the only reason we aren't (currently) going through more of that is because they haven't replaced those that left from the layoffs or just from regular attrition.

Good for you for advocating for yourself. If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious: what made you realize that they may not have had your best interests at heart?

I read that due to how close it sits to the wall, you have cut in a large recess in for an access box? is that not the case?
Fortunately I didn't have to do that, no. It's true that the included bracket doesn't let it get super far out from the wall, but I found it more than enough to get all of my cables plugged in. I can imagine if you didn't have very easy access to the sides of your TV it might be trickier.

Yeah, I got mine yesterday. My husband recognized the name from the last time you sent me books. He maintains it sounds like a porn star name.
Thanks, @Commissar SFLUFAN!
When I lived in North Carolina for a couple of years after college, I went up to DC once to visit my sister and we met up with @Commissar SFLUFAN for a drink and had a lovely time.
To this day, if I ever mention the forums to my sister, she will occasionally bring up his name and say something like "it's still the best real name that sounds fake that I've ever heard." We met up roughly 15 years ago.
It's the gift that keeps on giving, sir.

my OLED still looks amazing. zero burn in or any issues in all these years. BUTTTT if I see a sub $2K 77” C3, I would probably jump on it.
I love the look of the G3 but theres a lot to do to get it wall mounted.
Unless you mean that your particular setup would require a lot of shuffling things around or something, FWIW I have my G3 wall mounted and it was super easy. The TV includes the necessary bracket and a paper outline of the TV (so you can place it exactly where you want it). I just used a stud finder, a level, and a drill to get it mounted in about 15 minutes with the help of a friend.
The TV is fucking legit.

We went from being covered in ice to having one of the warmest days on record in the span of a week. I think it hit 60 yesterday.
Yeah I commented to someone the other day that we were at -15 less than two weeks ago and that day I had taken my dog out in just jeans and a T-shirt. In Portland in January.

The really galling thing to me is that if they had just said "we're raising the price of Prime by $18/year" (approx. ($2.99/month * 12 months)/2, to assume that roughly half the people using it don't use it enough to make ads necessary to offset their costs) I would have gladly paid it and not given it a second thought. Even if they raised the price of Prime by $36/year I possibly would have begrudgingly paid it.
But adding in ads to a service I already am paying for really infuriates me.

TSLA dropped nearly 5% on this news due the possibility that Elmo might decide to sell a non-insignificant portion of his stock holdings.
See this is why I don't feel prepared to get in to investing. The market thinks this is a bad idea, but my intuition would be that this buffoon having less power in the company would be a great thing.

You guys are forgetting that if there is a UBI, that means that women, minorities, and other undesirables might be happy. And that is something the modern GOP just can not abide.

Nokra is now playing genital jousting

Busted.
I've had the game for a while and never tried it. Its story mode is surprisingly funny; I'm about 45 minutes in (to what the Internet claims is about a 1.5 hour mode) and it's made me laugh out loud quite a few times, though I fully admit to having a juvenile sense of humor at times. It has this proper sounding British lady narrating a story of a dick that is unhappy with his life and he tries all kinds of things to make himself happy. For example:
Mild Genital Jousting story spoilers
I just went on an international tour where visiting some of the world's wonders involves shoving them up my ass.
Anyway I think if someone can laugh at that kind of stuff (e.g. the South Park: Stick of Truth game) you'll probably enjoy this; it's an amusing, short, and very playable game. I won't expect to become an international Genital Jousting champ online though.
