This issue got sorted!
I made my car payment yesterday thanks everyone! My stress levels are down and I'm able to eat normally again. My situation was actually a lot worse than I let on I'm just not feeling like talking about everything. I will be paying all of you back with interest out of my inheritance or sooner if my luck turns around All of you are the best!
Please just consider mine a donation; no need to repay. Best of luck to you going forward!

Read the wild email Tesla is sending to suppliers amid Supercharger chaos
ELECTREK.CO
After firing its Supercharger team, Tesla is unsurprisingly finding it hard to manage contractors who previously worked with the team.Literally no forethought:
The people fired include the team responsible for integrating other car manufacturers onto Tesla's standard:
That last point (about auto manufacturers abandoning the conversion to using NACS) is what has me the most annoyed at all of this. If Elon wants to tank his own company, cool, best of luck. But this is potentially setting the entire industry back.
Personally, I'm strongly considering a Hyundai Ioniq 5 once the 2025 models release later this summer or fall, and it was supposed to have the NACS charge port. We'll see, I guess.

I wonder what mechanisms, if any, exist to get Musk out of that position. Dude is clearly unstable and actively damaging not only the company but the industry as a whole.
My hope is that these 500 people will be quickly snapped up by other companies working in the charger space. What a shitbag move by Musk.

Before the pandemic, I had finally moved out from my parents into my own apartment, met up with friends I originally knew from IGN, was in decent shape, and adopted my own kitten. Since then, nothing has gone right for me. I've grown ugly, fat, and balding, every friend I've known has distanced themselves from me, I have no money, developed a crippling alcohol addiction, my cat refuses to use the litterbox and pee on the rug, and not a day has gone by where I haven't thought about death or suicide.
I'm sorry it's seemingly all gone to hell in a hand basket for you lately. I do hope you're seeing someone for some support though; shit's extra tough on your own.

As others have pointed out elsewhere online, if shows like Family Guy, South Park, Rick and Morty, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. can continue to get made to this day, I really don't think "wokeness" is a true barrier to comedy.

Yeah I'm getting pretty frustrated with what I'm going to call "disasterbaiting". There's a lot of shit, but adding to the pile doesn't dig anyone out.

Is the magazine quality? Are the pages glossy?
From what I've seen, yeah the contents are quality. I wouldn't say the pages are glossy, no, but they're nicely printed.

Received my first issue today and already enjoyed spending 30 minutes flipping through it. Definitely was worth the $2 per issue! Thanks for passing this along, @Commissar SFLUFAN!

I was curious so looked up the kwh/100km for EVs (measure of how little energy it takes to go 100km). Teslas tend to be around 15, which isn't bad. My own Prius Prime in EV mode gets around 11, which is nice.
Good metric, and damned impressive on the Prius. I was curious too and looked up a couple more:
Ioniq 6 takes about 13.9, Ioniq 5 takes about 18, Kia EV6 takes about 16.5. From what I've seen and read with various EVs, the shape of the vehicle makes a ton of difference in their efficiency, particularly at higher speeds. An SUV/crossover like the Ioniq 5 or Tesla Model Y will be significantly worse than a sedan.
Another interesting thing I was reminded of recently is that the EPA considers a gallon of gas to have the equivalent of 33.7 kWh of energy. So e.g. my Prius with a relatively small 12 gallon tank has about 404 kWh of energy onboard. Again, vs. e.g. a 77 kWh battery in the Hyundai EVs. If an EV had batteries that contained as much energy as even my Prius with its small tank, their increased efficiency would give them a range of well over 1,200 miles (~1,900 km). Gas cars are not very efficient; they just have huge stores of energy.

The free Level 3 charging they are giving away (not just them) is kinda insane. It's leading to people using Level 3 as their every day charger, creating demand and lines that shouldn't exist.Yeah it's kind of crazy how much they're giving away with that, though of course it's understandable why they'd want to remove that potential barrier to the EV world from the minds of potential customers.
But for example I've seen on a lot of YouTube videos that charging on Electrify America (one of the largest providers) can be $0.45 or more per kWh, so with e.g. a 77.4 kWh Ioniq 5 battery, that'd be just under $35 for a charge. By contrast, at work we have slow level 2 chargers (I think they're 6 kWh shared between two plugs) but you're only charged $0.10 per kWh, so that same Ioniq 5 suddenly costs more like $7.50 to charge.
I hear you on the long lines, and it's really unfortunate how behind our infrastructure is here. If I couldn't charge cheaply at work, I'm not sure I'd be considering an EV since I live in an apartment and wouldn't want to rely entirely on public charging.

Hyundai had a similar deal for Ioniq 6 SE RWD for $239 down and $239 a month. That’s a better deal. Unfortunate that Hyundai doesn’t include the glass roof on the SEL
If I wasn't reasonably sure that I'm going to buy a 2025 model Ioniq 5 (coming later this year) I probably would have bitten on that offer. That's a great way to dip your toes into the EV world, and it still includes two years of free charging. So you're paying $240 + insurance to drive a brand new EV. Amazing deal.

Yeah the hotdogs aren't stellar themselves (though IMO they're pretty tasty), but it's the fact that they're $1.50, you get a drink, and there are a bunch of different toppings you can put on it that make it a stellar deal.

Without having watched the video (olol) I will say this is true of me at least. I buy very few new games anymore; I've got such a backlog thanks to various sales (looking at you, Steam) that I couldn't hope to ever finish all of my games anyway. Plus as I get older I have less and less time for gaming.

I know my parents bought the house I grew up in in rural Idaho for about $40k in 1985 (it was built in 1977, I believe). Currently Zillow lists its price as around $250k.
I'm guessing though that it could potentially sell for more than that because they've done a lot of remodeling over the years, and similar homes in the town are going for $300k or more.

I always talk them down to about $50 for a year sub, so I’m good with it, mostly because it’s how I tend to find new music/bands for myself as streaming services seem to just pull from the same bands most of the time, and when I do the “discover new music” thing with any of them it just gives me garbage I don’t like lol. Plus, that Pearl Jam stationBut, yea, any more than $50-60ish/year and no f’n way
I also don’t think the phone apps are worth paying for, as there’s no server really involved in a way that it should cost money. It’s a signal from your phone through the net/towers to your cars onboard modem. Only server-side bit is the log-in and settings being saved. Ford/Lincoln and others (Hyundai/Kia/Genesis being one of them) offer it for free for life on new cars.
Which app are you meaning? With Blue-Link, you get three years for free with the purchase of a new car and then it's $99/year. https://www.hyundaiusa.com/us/en/blue-link

My power went off at 2:30am last night and they kept pushing back the estimate of restoration. It seems like a vehicle caused the outage so the original time was supposed to be 8am, then it got pushed to 6pm and then eventually 9pm, and it came back around 8pm. Not a lot to do during that time, can't even shower or eat and my cell phone ran out of batteries. Good times.
That's a bummer, sorry. Do you have some powerbanks for e.g. your phone and they just ran out?
