My job takes everything out of me during the week, so when I get to the weekend I’m just dead. We’ve got a three day weekend this week, so I’ll do what I can to take a look and update some of the styling.

Over Christmas last year I had gotten Triage an FDM 3D printer because she’s always wanted one for her cosplay. A few months later and she still hadn’t touched it, so I started messing around with it. Started printing some things here and there, eventually picked up a resin printer (whole other story), and then got to thinking what could I print, that I wanted to print, that I could also sell and there would be a market for. I have a background in design, and really only had to teach myself how to use specific aspects of Blender to go from design to 3D model, to printing software, to physical print. I’m big into Sea of Thieves. Really big. And I had found a few drink coasters for SoT on Thingiverse, printed them, but wasn’t happy with the quality or detail. So I decided to make my own, from the ground up. I went to the SoT logos and redrew/modified them all, and made two distinct sets of 4 coasters—a general set, and an alliance set. But then I thought, what good are coaster sets without a case? For SoT, I originally wanted to replicate the in game rowboat, but that went beyond my 3D modeling skills, and I fear would have priced my product out of the desired price point. So I went with something a bit simpler—a box with two halves, with the top half having an inset logo. Doing this allowed the top box to be two tone, same as the coasters. I added cork to the bottom of all the coasters, felt padding in the inside top of the box, and rubber feet on the bottom of the box. For the SoT sets I sanded both the top and bottom of the box to give it a more weathered look. Once I was satisfied with my SoT sets, I started thinking about what else would I like to make, as there’s no logo I can’t design/replicate. Horror. That was the next set. A mask set, all glow in the dark, of three of the most iconic masks in movies. The box top had no previous design and was created by me from scratch. Then, I recalled one of my friends owns a comic shop, so I reached out to him and showed him the sets—he loved them and couldn’t wait to feature them in his store. Which was beyond cool! Once we found the right price point, the sets flew off the shelf. Now that I have some sets in an actual store, I wanted to do something more comic/superhero related, and a bit closer to a larger copyright holder (we’ll see how that goes)… and that’s how the Batman set came to be. I do have an Etsy shop, and business was really slow going at first, but it seems to be picking up as I’ve now gotten 6 orders in the past week alone. I’m not making much money, but it’s really cool to see a market for something that’s really more of a passion project for me—I’m happy knowing there are people who want to own these coasters. I missed it earlier—how frequently are you having Huel? What else are you eating/drinking daily? @Commissar SFLUFAN I had ask about flavor on FB earlier because I’ve been through so many different whey or meal replacement shake brands, and after about a week or so, I just can’t stomach the flavor any longer. It upsets my stomach just thinking about having more, and then it just sits there and goes to waste. The only one I’ve never gotten sick of is Chocolate Shakeology. But the cost is pretty ridiculous. I signed up as a coach just to get the decent discount. I do Overnight Oats for breakfast, with Oatmilk, which is about a 500 calorie breakfast. Really love that service and the variety of their oatmeal. It’s really good. Then I’ll do Shakeology for lunch, and then whatever meal service I’m currently subscribed to, which is Home Chef right now. Problem is, I snack. At night. So I don’t lose any weight. Would love something that worked for hunger suppression. I just have to get back to working out. Is it wrong I want to try Huel just to get their shaker?

What’s even worse with the AC DLC in the subscription is once you stop your subscription, you lose access to all content from the DLC. That’s crazy shady. We’re just going to buy the DLC outright. And the reason for buying the N64 controller? Not included in the library. The SEGA lineup seems gimped, too—it doesn’t include all the games from the separate SEGA classics being released as a stand alone purchase.

I was thinking that as well. It’s not something you can just get back to work on in a few weeks. That horror, I’m sure, lasts a lifetime. How long were they on hiatus with The Crow?

Nothing—my work pays for my Apple laptops. I’m good on the desktop front—I have an iPad Pro with the magic keyboard, which essentially makes it a laptop, I have my work 2018 MBP, which is a little long in the tooth, and I have my personal Windows PC (i9-9900 & 2080Ti), so I’m pretty covered. But why the fuck put a notch on a laptop? I’d rather have more bezel.

I actually didn’t get one. I was all ready to throw my money at a new one (got the 13 Pro), but the update was horrible. They lost me at “same great battery life”. No. The Apple Watch battery life is shit. I stick with it because I love the functionality, but the battery life is easily the worst thing about the device.

Black Sails: 11/10 Treasure Island had no business getting a set up this spectacular. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better 40 hours of television. Everything about this show hits every note perfectly. From character progression, to the sets, the action, the payoffs—all spot on. Quite possibly my new favorite show of all time. Phantasm: 3/10 Watched the 4K remaster, and while there are some great Lovecraftian scenes, the movie is just all over the place, some would say intentionally so, but it really is a hard watch, and that ending. What. The. Fuck.

It’s already better than the Eddie Murphy movie. Also, Fozzy as Hat Box is hilarious.
