  1. I got some bad news about what surgeons do before operations... @CastlevaniaNut18 @TUFKAK
  2. If I was more conspiratorially minded I would be highly suspect of this, as I've never noticed more help wanted signs in my life.
  3. As the post says though, there’s a difference between machine learning and AI being applied to image processing and software going, “oh that’s the moon? Here you go.”
  4. I’ve come to enjoy this more as it approaches the end, but I can’t help but think it would go from enjoyable to memorable if Vash was marginally interesting or even had agency.
  5. Last 2 episodes were really great and the whole season was a lot of fun. Really enjoyed the “But I’m a Cheerleader” reunion. Just keep making this show forever please.
  6. Pretty interesting post that has some receipts that show that when you snap zoomed pics of the moon with recent Samsung phones, the resulting image is bogus, adding detail that’s not actually captured by the sensor. A while back I’d seen really impressive moon photos taken with Samsungs, shown side by side with worse shots from iPhones. I’d wondered what kind of wizardry they were using but I didn’t assume it was just a bullshot generator.
  7. Aside from the price, this actually sounds great? There should be more music stores. Also I'm still the lunatic that still occasionally rips CDs and transfers the files from my laptop to my phone with a cord and everything like it's 2005. I don't know why I do this.
  8. Every time I play a Civilization game, discover banking, and get rich with absolutely no downsides, I laugh and laugh and laugh.
  9. This is one of those things where social media just shines a spotlight on things that are objectively tamer than they used to be. I went to college at a bougie liberal arts school and during my junior year, a freshman nicknamed “Dudeman” got shitfaced and yeeted himself out a second story window and needed to be hospitalized after he hit the pavement. I don’t think the party stopped. I’m also reminded of frat initiation / hazing my dad told me about, the finale of which involved the pledges being walked into the house basement naked and blindfolded, carrying cinder blocks that were tied to their penises with string. While blindfolded and distracted, the brothers cut the strings while the pledges couldn’t see, and they had an accomplice drop a cinder block and start screaming like they were in pain. The end of the ceremony involved demanding that the pledges drop the cinder blocks, and when they didn’t, they’d get screamed at and had their hands punched until they dropped the cinder blocks only to find out that their dicks weren’t ripped off. So… yeah.
  10. Yeah it's a bit weird that most of the Mandos we've seen are... not great? Din is the only main one we know of that hasn't really been part of a violent uprising, developed WMDs, or been a terrorist?
  11. Also it's kinda interesting that a character like Saw Gerrera got his start on Clone Wars and his character arc gradually saw him more and more radicalized. When we first see Bo-Katan in Clone Wars she's a fucking terrorist opposed to her sister's democratic, non-violent rule. She'd mellowed out a bit by Rebels and here it's clear that the fandom has, at least for now, driven her to her "tamest" depiction yet. But she helped form the Shadow Collective! She worked with The Sith! Yeah, The Jedi and Mandos got along great, remember when Obi-Wan wanted to pork your sister then you got her killed? Great collab, no notes, Bo! This isn't uncharted territory for Star Wars of course, Vader's post death glow up to ghost dad is... appalling, all things considered. Still!
  12. "I saw a very stupid man who somehow knew enough to have a robot test the atmosphere before rolling down the car window be stupid enough to just walk into a vernal pool without testing the depth or for parasites, now take off that helmet and kiss me, you cultist!" It could happen! Kidding aside I do think it's very charming that Bo-Katan refers to Grogo as Mando's son.
  13. My man lost so much blood that he forgot to take off his metal suit / DID take off his jet pack before going swimming. If the next episode isn't him and Bo-Katan falling in love while recovering from the bends in a recompression chamber, I'm going to lose it.
  14. I mean this in the best possible way, this episode in particular is just live action Rebels or Clone Wars. The way Bo-Katan is just sitting in a corner office, completely fucking alone except with a droid butler to tell her when someone parks in her driveway... the way Mando decides to take a dip in full fucking armor and then sinks like a rock... Gorge's lil solo adventure... it's really good. I don't know if they decided to lean more in this direction after seeing what Andor was going to turn into or if it came about more organically, but I think it's the right call, at least so far.
