  1. Oh man, give it to me daddy. I don't even watch soccer anymore, but that sounds fun.
  2. I've started listening to metal again during lockdown. Now all I want to do is go see a metal show. I haven't been to one in probably over a decade. I want to see a Sabaton show in Europe. Or I guess just concerts in general. I haven't been much of a concert person the last 5 years or so, just because I prefer to hang out in settings where I can casually sit and talk with my friends over drinks. Speaking of which, casually sitting in a dimly lit bar with a jukebox and pool tables with my friends. A lot of my favorite bars have closed down permanently, though, and I bet you the ones that will take their places are going to be all "gastropub with elevated fare" bullshit. I fucking hate those places. I want carpeted floors, goddammit. And pinball. And seat cushions that are partially torn but the owner doesn't give a shit and they've been that way for a decade, but it's cool because you can get a shot and a beer for $6. I also want to be able to smoke a cigarette while walking down the street without having to dodge people every 15 seconds so everyone remains safe (except me, I really need to quit. I am down to like 2 cigarettes a day, though). Or, who knows... maybe we'll never be able to do anything fun again...
  3. I'm still planning on going to my dad's, where it will just be me, my dad, his girlfriend, and my brother. Even then, though, I'm debating canceling.
  4. I'm about to dive into Greedfall. We'll see how it goes. I haven't actually finished a game in months outside of AC Odyssey.
  5. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I hate it, I suppose like everyone else. I make okay money for my lifestyle, and I pretty much take time off whenever I want. Between the quarantines and my trips to Mexico and Italy early in the year, I will basically have only worked about 4 months total this year.
  6. Covid-19: Sweden's herd immunity strategy has failed, hospitals inundated - NZ Herald WWW.NZHERALD.CO.NZ In the past few weeks, the country of 10 million has been smashed by Covid-19.
  7. I missed the memo on Latinx. Is it supposed to be inclusive to LGBTQ+ as opposed to the traditional latino/a? Or is it more of like an all inclusive ethnic term, like Hispanic? Is Hispanic bad now?
  8. There's also the fact that a lot of people won't get the vaccine right away, either because we won't have enough for everyone or because they simply don't want to. It will still be quite a while after we have a vaccine before things are totally "normal" again.
  9. I did the whole "second ending" thing with the big sky amoeba monster if that's what you're talking about, I just basically stopped doing sidequests at a certain point in the game. I also used a cheat to speed up my exp to 1.5x so I didn't have to grind.
  10. Games of 2020: The Witcher 3 (replay) - 120 hours. I had never played the DLC before, so of course I had to play the whole thing again. Ys Seven - 21 hours. Lovely little action RPG. The combat is really fun to get into. It's like a cross between Secret of Mana and Dark Souls. Dragon Quest XI - 65 hours. Delightful retro-style turn-based RPG. It does get a little old towards the end, though. I was definitely like "alright, it can be over now" for the last 15 or so hours. Firewatch - 4 hours. It was... fine. I honestly don't see what the big deal was about it, but the story is depressingly fun. Vampyr - 21 hours. The combat system is fun if unwieldy. The story has a lot of grey. Despite the game world being small, it desperately needs fast travel. I liked the game well enough, but not enough that I felt the need to do an "evil" playthrough. ELEX - 27 hours. The story is pretty good. Combat sucks. The "good/evil" system in the game is kind of wonky. The game world is absolutely massive, and where the game really shines. Post-apocalyptic forests, mad max-style deserts, volcanic sci-fi hellscapes, frozen sci-fi hellscapes, it's all fun. Like Vampyr, I liked it well enough, but not enough to do a second playthrough. Ys: Memories of Celceta - 24 hours. Again, a lovely little action RPG. Combat is awesome. Music is awesome. The story has basically every JRPG trope in the book, but it's whatever. Ys VIII - 55 hours. Combat took a very different turn compared to the last Ys games. It's slower paced and more akin to something like Xenoblade than the others. The story is good for like the first 40 hours. It's the first Ys game to have most dialog fully voiced, and it shows. It's... terrible. Music is phenomenal. Assassin's Creed Odyssey (replay) - 112 hours. Like, The Witcher, I had never played the DLC, so of course I had to play through the whole thing again. I love the game. Fate of Atlantis is really good, Legacy of the First Blade is... alright. I played Legacy first, though, and parts of the Atlantis story really don't make a whole lot of sense if you have already played Legacy.
  11. The disgusting thing is Kelly Loeffler is herself worth over $150 million. She is married to a chairman of the New York stock exchange who's worth over twice what she is. And yet she used public funds to buy a jet, because for some reason it's never "enough" with these people. "Sure, I could use a couple of the half a billion dollars I have access to to buy a jet, but why do that when taxpayers can do it?" "AOC, YOU WANT TO GIVE PEOPLE $600/WEEK? WHAT IS THIS, COMMUNIST RUSSIA?!?"
  12. Yeah, we had already had a 10pm curfew on bars since June. It didn't really do anything. Now we're probably completely closed again until the end of the year. The only difference between this lockdown and the last one is that grocery stores actually seem to be staying open their normal hours. Last lockdown, all the grocery stores were open like 9-6. I was like, so you're forcing everyone to shop at the same time during a pandemic, brilliant.
  13. I guess some people close to him just tested positive last week. For some reason I already assumed he had it like a month ago.
  14. Since I apparently missed the bandwagon on bingewatching the Great British Baking Show during the first quarantine, I've decided that's what I'm doing for quarantine no. 2. I mean, it's a reality show, so their editing is kind of insufferable, but it's still a bit wholesome. I've watched 3 seasons so far.
  15. Gross. I'm even hesitant about going to my dad's house, even though it'll just be myself, my dad, and his girlfriend.
  16. Ori technically isn't an indie game. I also think what constitutes an "indie" game anymore is getting a bit blurred. The Outer Worlds was technically an indie game, even though it had a fairly massive staff and development cycle. Same with Hellblade. Ori is not, as they're owned by Microsoft, but has a much smaller team. Do games published by Devolver or Focus count as indie games? Where is the line drawn? I think it's becoming a somewhat useless qualifier.

    What's up?

I mean, you don't HAVE to collect mushrooms and eggs every day. You don't HAVE to do anything. You can just let your farm get overgrown and become a miner if you want. The only sense of urgency is what you place on yourself. I think the only time I've played with that kind of urgency is when I try to do speedruns. I would try to finish the community center in year 1. I managed to do it once. That involved playing the game with a spreadsheet and the wiki open on my second monitor.
