  1. Why Your Team Sucks 2021: New England Patriots | Defector DEFECTOR.COM Look at you now, Pats fans. You never meant a fucking thing to your favorite QB. Your team is nothing now. You are nothing. You’re so anonymous you belong in the AFC South. You’re not even fit for... I hate that nothing here is wrong and I still think that maybe Belichick is a great coach. He's really good at managing really good players, which I guess is better than the vast majority of skid marks we call NFL coaches.
  2. DC Characters Are Coming to Webcomics Through Deal With Webtoon VARIETY.COM DC characters will be featured in several upcoming webcomics series, through a new deal between WarnerMedia's DC and Webtoon. Looks like DC is going to work on some new series from their existing properties that they'll distribute through Webtoons. If you aren't familiar with Webtoons, it's got to be the biggest dedicated digital comic distributor out there. Their user base is some 100 million readers, many of whom are actually willing to pay for individual chapters. I can't think of anyone with a larger reader base outside of probably like Amazon, Apple, and Google. They mainly deal with indie comics, Japanese manga, and Korean manhwa. I think their most high profile franchise was a great Star Wars comic that ran a number of years back that Disney has since pulled from the platform. That said, they've had some breakout hits, some of which have received anime adaptation like Tower of God on Crunchyroll or live action series like Sweet Home on Netflix. It'll be interesting to see how far this goes. Webtoons and their vertical scrolling comics is easily the best way to read comics on a mobile device. Some of my favorites comics are the ones that make great use of the verticality like Hellper or Gosu. I'll keep an eye out for these when they start to land.
  3. In Windows 10 there's an option under taskbar settings called "Combine taskbar buttons". If you allow Windows to not collapse taskbar items, you'll get the icon plus the app name like was the default in Windows XP and prior.
  4. I took her comment to mean that he's lying, but it would be hilarious if he actually did fight Cap at some point in time and EVERYONE, including the people behind the movie, all thought he was lying. That's basically where I stand. He's most likely lying, but if it turned out that Cap popped up in the wrong timeline for some crazy reason and they got into a fight, it would be pretty damn funny.
  5. If you can uninstall notepad and paint then that's already a good step toward simplifying the OS. Neither of those should have been treated as a core part of the OS. Seems like Cortana is also now another app and not a core part of the OS.
  6. Sure, but also Shortland AND Harbour thinks he's just told the lie for so long he now believes it to be true. Black Widow director on what’d happen if Red Guardian met Cap: ‘I WWW.SYFY.COM In the latest MCU film Black Widow, David Harbour’s Alexei Shostakov, aka the Red Guardian, likes to share tales with whomever will listen (and whomever wishes to arm wrestle the guy) about that... Shortland hedges saying that it wouldn't be too crazy if he actually was telling the truth, though.
  7. It's just the text next to an app's icon in the taskbar. I never turn them on because I either have so few things open that I already know each app or I have too many open that they get truncated anyway.
  8. He just seems like the type that turned bragging about being able to beat Cap in a fight to bragging about beating Cap in a fight. He even gets called out for it when he's talking about it in prison.
  9. Yeah, there was no timeline tomfoolery. Alexei never fought Cap, he was just crazy.
  10. No VR games really do it for me that way. I want a VR game that gives me a world to get lost in. Alyx was really good, but it's also basically a corridor shooter.
  11. Earthbound, just for the ending. I still maintain that going into that blind was one of the best gaming experiences ever.
  12. All this talk about third doses and I'm wondering what to do as a J&J recipient on my single dose.
  13. That's because... Marvel’s Shang-Chi will come to Disney Plus 45 days after theatrical release WWW.POLYGON.COM Unlike Black Widow, Shang-Chi will kick off in theaters only
  14. Texas driver shot dead after crashing vehicle, firing at 3 who came to her aid: report WWW.YAHOO.COM A Texas driver ended up dead Wednesday night after crashing her vehicle and then firing shots at three people who tried to come to her aid, according to a report. Woman crashes her car while speeding; three come to help her; she shoots all three, killing one of them; another passerby shoots and kills her to protect those Good Samaritans. The two that weren't killed are in critical condition. This is about as American a story you could find.
  15. Cool. So basically, the election wasn't overturned because a bunch a few folks in the DOJ didn't want to go through the hassle of hiring a bunch of attorneys to replace every one that would have quit.
  16. There could be many religious objections to the mRNA vaccines, but I doubt there are many, if any, real religious objections to the J&J.
  17. At least you're heading to a reasonable place. All of New England is like 65% fully vaccinated.
  18. In an ideal world, everyone would get six months of full parental leave and then daycare and preschool would be fully covered for every child six months and up at accredited institutions up to a certain amount. Also, childcare providers and preschool teachers should make a lot more than they do. It's just putting money into the economy at that point. Nothing is put into the economy when you have one parent stay at home, taking care of their kids for free. I'd say it should be a straight cash payout. If a mom or dad wants to pocket the money and stay at home with their kid/s good for them. If another wants to spend that money on childcare because they can make more working, they should be able to. If another wants to spend it on paying their retired parent to watch the kids while they go to school, they would be able to. There is literally no such thing as throwing money away here because even my local, legal weed dispensary is part of the economy and collecting taxes. These payments should last until the the kids are teens and should be able to care for themselves after school, all year round. The fun part here is that school only runs to like 2:30 in my city, so what do you do with a six year old that's done with class when their parent works a 9-5? What do parents normally do with their kids during summer vacation? In my city, summer school only runs through July, leaving the entire month of August completely up in the air. My siblings left them with my parents, but since my father died a couple years back, my mother isn't really able to watch a bunch of kids for 9 hours a day. Again, yay for working from home due to COVID. I literally have zero idea what we would have done were I not home all day long.
  19. Not even close. There also aren't anywhere close to enough qualified babysitters available for the hours you'd need to cover here. At these hours, you're really looking for a full time nanny and not everyone can afford that. We had one before COVID and we paid her literally half of my wife's paycheck. I've been working from home since then so there wasn't any need, not that I could afford it either. My wife and I are almost back to working the same number of hours we were before COVID, but our old nanny is obviously not available anymore. Luckily, nobody is trying to force me back into the office.
  20. No. I loved Xenosaga for what it was at the time, but these Xenoblade games simply play better. That doesn't take into account that Xenosaga 2 felt like the longest game ever made. I know these Xenoblade games are actually longer, but the old Xenosaga games felt longer with the way they were padded out. There are some aspects of older JRPGs that make then hard to go back to and Xenosaga sort of rubs them all in your face.
  21. Exactly. A "short" rape isn't a thing. It's just rape. However, I completely fail to understand how kissing someone unrelated to the rape is "playing with fire". Women aren't allowed to kiss people in public now?
  22. Wait, the other reason for the lowered sentence is because she was making out with some other dude that was completely unrelated to the rape? What kind of fucked up sense is that? Even if she were to be kissing her would be rapist, it still wouldn't make sense, but she was kissing some other random guy.
