  1. Scary stuff and I’m glad it worked out. It’s weird how life works sometimes. You’re having car problems so you quickly get off the exit. Now that exit leads to you almost getting smashed by a huge truck. Like wtf. The car trouble wasn’t bad enough? Good on you for being observant though.
  2. I’ll add to that with the horror genre. I don’t have a lot of examples off the top of my head but one that sticks with me is the remake of the killer clown movie “It”. Just didn’t find it scary with all the effects they chose to use. Some of it looked like something out of a video game.
  3. I’ve been kind of turned off with a lot of vfx that’s been put into movies and shows the last few years. So much of it is too over the top and just looks like people standing in green screen room. Could just be nostalgia, but I find myself enjoying and appreciating older movies a lot more.
  4. Sounds like that makes sense. At the moment I haven’t been doing much training or lifting. I’ve had some rough physical work days week to week. Mix that with knee pain caused by a recent Lyme disease diagnosis. I’ve felt a lot of relief since starting the cold plunge.
  5. I think you’re right about the marketing team being on drugs @best3444, that commercial was…something.
  6. It’s the pizza filling eyes that just seem painful.
  7. I’ve seen this thing on 3 different gaming websites within 24 hours. Just innocently scrolling when suddenly this monstrosity appears. Can’t take much more.
  8. I had some weird ass chest pain about 2 years ago. Mine was a little more right side, the sharp pain was about 2-3 inches to the right of the center of my chest. Just appeared around 8:30pm one night. By 10pm it was a sharp stabbing pain like someone was pushing their finger into my chest with every inhale. Slept maybe 2 hours the whole night. Debated repeatedly about going to the ER but it just never felt life threatening. In the morning I went to an urgent care and the tests, blood work, ekg all came back fine. About a day or two later it was gone and hasn’t returned since.
  9. Just feels so good. It puts me in a nice mindset afterwards that last for hours. No pills, medications, or supplements.
  10. I tried that for a while. I’d feel a little refreshed but only during the coldest months when the water was colder. All summer the cold water coming out of the tap is rather warm. I’ve read 58 degrees it’s the starting point for cold water therapy. It’s actually colder than it sounds when you are suddenly immersed up to your chin. Your heart immediately starts racing and then calms down.
  11. There’s surprisingly less shrinkage than I expected.
  12. For the last year or two now I’ve heard people raving about cold plunges and how great you feel afterwards. Two weeks ago I started to….dip my toes into the idea. Bought a portable “tub” called The Cold Pod. Found someone on eBay selling the XL size for $100. Just set it up and fill it with water. Keeping it cold is definitely annoying. I seem to have picked the hottest week here to try this out(pushing 100 degrees some days). We have a BJ’s membership(similar to Costco) and they sell 20lb bags of ice for $4.49. So for about $24 I can get the thing down to 48 degrees and then maintain it for a few days. I have a chest freezer so I can freeze a bunch of gallon jugs and toss them in like big ice cubes. I look forward to jumping in every morning. For the rest of the day my arms and legs feel so loose and free. It zaps my appetite completely in the morning. I won’t even think about food until 12-1pm. Interested to see if I notice any differences mentally. My wife said I seem calmer since starting two weeks ago. I have a physical job and this really has taken away aches and pains better than Tylenol or ibuprofen ever has. I think it’s crazy how I can sit down for 3 minutes in cold water and feel the way I do for a whole day. Really looking forward to the cold weather to make my life easier to keep it cold. Of course I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of making something more permanent. There are a bunch of expensive options online. The biggest component is a water chiller. Seems like your not going to get one big enough for under $700-800. A popular option is converting a chest freezer into a cold plunge but that seems sketchy. If I stick with it for a year, I have a DIY plan I’m going to go with that should keep me around $1,700 for everything. Sounds like a lot, but my body has seriously felt good the last two weeks.
  13. Really sorry to hear that. If you need to vent anything out, feel free. We’re here for you.
  14. I beat it but that was after everyone else said how great it was. I thought it was just ok.
  15. A lot of people don’t realize you get a “nice settlement” because you are fucked up for the rest of your life. It’s not “oh that person hit me, yay I hit the lottery”.
  16. Damn. Hope you get well soon man. That stuff is no fun.
