  1. Also, one possibility as to why this is happening is that the recently donated German patriot system was moved right to the southeast front—a theory is that Russia knows it's there, and is actually trying to take it out (while it takes out the jets hunting it).
  2. Hard to say, but usually the aircraft stuff is pretty accurate. Unfortunately most pilots survive, though I know last week it was confirmed at least one Su-34 pilot did not eject in time. To put these numbers in perspective, 11 x Su-34 jets is roughly 10% of their fleet. In one week. In the entire war they've lost 25% of their estimated Su-34 jets.
  3. We have three cats, and I still cry sometimes when I think about we lost two years ago. There's something so pure about dogs and cats, and something strangely worse about their passing compared to even loved ones. At least with people, we can understand what pain is, that it will end/continue, that we will cease, etc. You can't explain any of that to a pet. Our oldest cat, Little, is 14 (well past her 9-year life expectancy for a Manx cat) and she is starting to limp a bit, and have trouble with jumps. What makes matters worse is that one of the other cats likes to "play" with her (which she takes as being attacked), so she freaks out and tries to run, which makes her leg worse. I know there will come a time soon when it will be more kind to put her to sleep...but even now I am tearing up thinking about it. She sleeps on my chest every night, and she always wants to be held and cuddled. Here's her on my shoulder a few days ago (she loves to jump up): She's my #1 girl...but don't tell my wife.
  4. It should be noted that nothing will come of this, as Russia has almost no troops in the region, and no way of getting more in. Ukraine has troops near that border, and has stated that if Moldova asked, they could "solve the Transnistria problem" in a day. In other words, Ukraine is prepared to invade the breakaway region of Moldova to defeat the Russians there, if asked.
  5. I feel like the Muppets are sitting on a goldmine and they don't realize it. Their best movies are adaptations of classic works, such as A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island. They need to do more of these, where you have a single human actor playing it straight, and then a bunch of muppets for the satirical element.
  6. I wonder who the youngest person on this forum is.
  7. Your memory is either incredible...or you have a spreadsheet containing info on everyone to ever post on IGN/D1P.
  8. There's also a difference between not being able to form thoughts and sentences, and not being able to get through them without messing up. Biden falls into the latter, which can be attributed to age, and also his stutter. Trump falls more into the former, where he sounds okay but his actual thoughts don't make sense.
  9. Sri Lanka ends visas for hundreds of thousands of Russians avoiding war WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Investigation launched into order asking Russians to leave country amid blacklash over ‘whites only policy’ Thousands of Russians fled Russia to avoid conscription and other parts of Russian life, and moved to Sri Lanka. Once there...they tried to set up an Apartheid state. They are now being deported back to Russia.
  10. Russia hasn't flown any A-50s since the second downing last week. Either they are scared of losing the last few, or, just as likely, they don't have any other trained crews. The A-50 requires a crew of 15 to operate, and they've lost two active teams in the last few months. The loss of AWACS will force Russia to either fly more fighters closer to the front to provide air radar coverage (exposing them to more AA, which Ukraine is obviously moving forward), or they will be much more blind than before.
  11. I imagine with the reception (and what looks to be a bigger box office haul than the first) that Denis will get his change for Dune 3: Messiah, and complete Paul's story.
  12. Anyone see it yet? We have tickets for this Friday. Heard it's better than the first.
  13. It seems like they can't do all of that, until Trump orders it and people listen even though it's against the law.
  14. I assume as long as the drug is approved to treat a condition, then it would be covered (but we won't know the details for a long time, I imagine). Expensive rare drugs are already typically covered under special support programs. My wife, for example, had two courses of Lemtrada for her MS back in 2017/2018. Each one was around $250,000 for the week. At the time, our province required she attempt to use her private plan through work first, and then the government would cover any amount after since it was so expensive (or the entire amount, if none was covered). There are obviously drugs that cost more than that...but $500,000 would have ruined her life.
  15. Oh look, Alberta (MAGA country with anti-vax conspiracist Premier) doing the chud work: Alberta intends to opt out of national pharmacare plan | Globalnews.ca GLOBALNEWS.CA Alberta intends to opt out of the proposed national pharmacare plan.
  16. I like how the company says they are GDPR-compliant...as if following an EU law would apply in Canada. Also, a similar incident in the past (mall kiosks capturing faces) resulted in the company being forced to delete their entire database. To me that implies that this sort of thing is not allowed in Canada.
  17. RTO doesn’t improve company value, but does make employees miserable: Study ARSTECHNICA.COM Data is consistent with bosses using RTO to reassert control and scapegoat workers. This shouldn't be a surprise at all. There are some good reasons to have in-office work some of the time, in some office-based industries, but being in eye sight of middle management does nothing to affect company performance. Also not surprising is that companies that enforce stricter in-office requirements tend to have CEOs with greater control over company operations, once again proving that most CEOs don't actually know anything about how companies actually work.
  18. Additionally, Nazis are openly mingling at CPAC and aren't being kicked out: Nazis mingle openly at CPAC, spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories and finding allies WWW.NBCNEWS.COM The presence of these extremists has been a persistent issue at CPAC, and in previous years conference organizers have ejected well-known Nazis and white supremacists such as Nick Fuentes.
  19. Great news. Yes, it's because the Conservatives are ahead in the polls, and because the NDP have the Liberals over a barrel to not call an election. But that won't matter once it's passed and people have access to cheaper prescription drugs.
