Russia’s performance in the war wildly undercuts any notion that they could pull off a feat like this. I don’t doubt that they want a weapon like that and are taking efforts to build it, but I’m skeptical it is anything more than a speculative threat at this point. This just strikes me as political saber rattling trying to capitalize on recent (but probably not dire) intelligence.

Turns out that, in addition to getting her PTO paid out with her final paycheck, they offered six weeks of severance (which honestly isn't bad considering we expected nothing). They also won't contest her unemployment claim. So that was a positive development! -
While I'm not entirely enthused with Biden's age and the potential for emerging or future cognitive decline, I am extremely skeptical of the Special Counsel's commentary without access to the full transcript. It's common knowledge he has dealt with stuttering his whole life, and those snippets could easily be taken out of context.

Yep, found out Monday morning she's being let go due to lack of work (because who would ever expect a multi-billion dollar international law firm to adequately plan its own book of business!) She's getting paid through the 19th (she's going to push for more severance), but other than that she has one petition to file then its get out and good luck. -

The list of included channels is extremely compelling, but there are two issues: 1. Unless I'm mistaken all of them are available on YouTube TV, so that is the price ceiling - and I have to think this service will cost $40-50/mo given the volume of content, competitive landscape, and revenue cannibalization (since a lot of subscribers will be new cable cutters, so the loss of carriage fee eats into margin). 2. No USA, so unless NBC decides to start putting USA-broadcast matches on Peacock, you'd lose out on most of the major PL matches. That alone would keep me with YouTube TV, especially if the service costs as much as I think it will. -

Finished White Noise by Don DeLillo today. Pretty good! I can always enjoy a good postmodern take on capitalism, and the skewering of academia (and the type of men it cultivates) was entertaining. The existentialism/Dylar stuff didn’t land for me quite as much, though the way it ended was pretty funny given how it was set up. -

Therapy and self-reflection are great exercises in humility; re-starting therapy after my recent ankle injury has tapped into and unlocked many, many other things that I haven't truly processed through to the depth or specificity that they require. Congratulation on all the progress you've made and will continue to make. -
So like, how much of this could theoretically be streamlined? Obviously airplanes are complex engineering systems, but computers and industrial design is pretty advanced in this day and age...If we threw all notions of safety or security out the window (including to the public writ large), could it be simplified to the point that literally anyone could fly it?
