General Gaming What games have you purchased lately?
chakoo replied to Chris-'s topic in The Spawn Point
My black friday switch/modern games hall. I posted about these in the BF thread but just adding in picture form. I've already cracked into Sonic Origins and having a blast. Of the rest I will probably start Rain Code to continue with my Danganronpa obsession from this year (It's by the same team). I still have one more BF hall photo to post when my 3DS stuff shows up (I'm pretty sure I spent more on 3DS stuff than the stuff above). I've also gone down the Evercade rabbit hole. =/. Not posted but 3ish? months ago I got the irem cart on sale then saw they were making the Super Pocket. So I pre-ordered the Super Pocket & Full Void (Top left) which just came out on the 15th. In waiting for those I picked up the Toaplan carts and the top right cart. I've actually got 2 more carts on the way as the Duke Nukem collection carts are out this week. Over all I'm enjoying the pocket even though for the Taito & Toaplan stuff I have access to most on the game on the Taito Egrett 2 mini. It's kind of nice having a portable english Cadash to play. -
General Gaming What are you playing today?

Sonic Origins on switch. Sure it sucks that the original music isn’t there for some of sonic 3 but I’m still having a blast playing through it. Mainly because Sonic 3 is the one I’m still missing for my genesis collection, so it’s been a while since I’ve played it. -
Less of a postable deal (because they're all sold out) and more of a brag but I just did a massive number on my 3DS backlog thanks to VGP posting some stock again of Atlus 3ds games. Radiant Historia : Perfect Chronology (3DS, $55 Cad) Shin Megami Tensei : Strange Journey Redux (3DS, $40 Cad) Shin Megami Tensei IV : Apocalypse (3DS, $40 Cad) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (3DS, $55 Cad) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker (3DS, $55 Cad) Prices seem high but considering they're normally selling for double/tripple on ebay this was a good deal. Ok I now need to quit and not buy anything else this year. I do actually want to play Strange Journey & Radiant Historia. =/

It use to be nice that we would have a slow build up into Christmas season in Canada. Yeah no that has gone away and Christmas season starts up as soon as thanksgiving is done in October. It's also a bit crazy that I did all my black friday shopping in the pre black friday sales as everything I wanted was the same for BF sales.

The idiot is speed running this. He has now filed a suite against media matters. Sega stuff went live in canada and it's kind of eh.... Oh well grabbed Sonic Origins for switch. FYI for anybody in Canada (at least). Front Mission 1st: Limited Edition (NSW) is only $30. https://www.amazon.ca/Front-Mission-1st-Limited-NSW/dp/B0BWGQQHPX/ref=sr_1_9?qid=1700509470&sr=8-9

Neir is a must Crisis core is a must if you've never played (I'm on the fence mostly because I already played the psp game) Jedi: No opinion M&R: If you like SRPG it's worth a play at that price

Uggg.... Sega deals atm are still not great in canada (Sure SMT5 for cheap but I have it, sonic superstars is only 50% off but still pricey), last year everything sega was on sale even brand new releases. With that said I added 3 more this morning Loop8 (switch, it was $25), Dragon Quest Treasures (switch, was $35) and GrimGrimoire OnceMore (switch, not technically marked on sale but the price dropped to $40). I'm also tempted but holding back atm on Octopath 2 (switch, $54) and Crisis Core (switch, $40) to see what other deals show up this/next week. * Note prices are in Canadian

Yeah agreed. I find the Yakuza games long enough as is. Their length tends to make the mid section of the game drag on for way too long. I think the story would benefit from a tighter, slightly shorter, game.

Messed up story regarding SH2 for me. When I got it on sale from amazon for a brand new copy they literally sent me a copy that was opened and look like a dog chewed it. It was the most WTF amazon issue I ever had. Luckily no issue with getting a replacement which I did but it still has me questioning how the hell that got shipped to me. -
Sorry to hear about @best3444, Hopefully you can bounce back from this quickly as it can be a difficult spot to be in mentally at the start.

General Gaming Do you still buy video game magazines?
chakoo replied to Remarkableriots's topic in The Spawn Point
It depends, one could look at it and say I bought a Japanese magazine that came with a toy, or you could look at it from my perspective and say I bought a toy that came with a magazine. Also get your head out of the gutter, it was for taiko no tatsujin. -
I forgot we had this thread. LoL

Looks like I’m not getting my copy for another 1-2 weeks. It was recently found out that all Asian prints (other than Malaysia?) have their release with all Chinese text on the box instead of English. The place I bought mine from is trying to rectify the matter and get English replacement inserts which will be 1-2 week delay. oh well not a big issue because not like I have time to play atm anyways.

Ah. a PC-98 is pretty nice. I hope you were looking at Hard Offs outside major cities like Tokyo. Btw as a side question, did you two go check out any arcade stores (think super potato but just arcade pcbs). I know some retro stores have a few arcade PCB but I remember there being one in Tokyo that is just arcade PCB.
