Not sure since that wouldn't really be something they'd talk about in the open (this would have been in grade 9 if I'm thinking of the right time this happened), but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if he never told my mom he went to the strip club with his work buddies after a hockey game, or some business meeting, or a business trip to Montreal or something. Not necessarily to hide it, but moreso telling her probably wouldn't have pleased her, so just withholding that it happened. My dad is Roman Catholic, and goes to church every Sunday, so I would hope his faith would help him keep an ethical life, but we know that doesn't stop other people (how many Italian mob bosses go around killing and stealing, and yet are still super devout...like, buddy you know you're not getting into Heaven with the life you live, right?).

That's gross. Reminds me of being in high school and I think it was the day you go to your parent's place of work for the day, so I went out to lunch or dinner with all my dad and all his work buddies, and they're all a bunch of macho pigs, talking about going to the strip club, and my dad going with them, and they saying to me, "see your dad gets out" as if it's supposed to be some sort of reassuring thing. Yeah thanks I love to hear about how my father oogles other women when he's still married to my mother, you dumb fuck!

Movies The Snyder Cut is real...and it's SPECTACULAR!

It'd be fine if it was shot in 4:3, and they're just uncropping it from 16:9, but one of the biggest lessons I learned the hard way in film school is to not crop the film if you didn't intend and shoot it for that aspect ratio. That mistake still bugs me. -
General Gaming Update: RIP in Peace, Anthem
Brick replied to skillzdadirecta's topic in The Spawn Point
A shame they couldn't pull something together that vastly improved the game, and impressed people enough to bring them back, and new people in, ala The Taken King for Destiny, or Forsaken for Destiny 2. Makes me wonder what could have been done had COVID-19 not impacted the world, and if they would have been able to salvage it. The concept of Anthem intrigues me, so maybe years from now they'll make a sequel, but sounds like the franchise might just be dead now. -

The "thanks my mom made it for me line" is so perfectly dorky, humble, honest, and perfectly encapsulates how genuine Superman is as not only a hero, but as a good person all around that is supposed to be a shining beacon of hope that we should all aspire to be more like, instead of being down, depressed, and cynical all the time. I love it. -

You're not the only one who has put way too much thought into that -
I remember last year when The Last of Us Part II was delayed by a month from May to June, and people were upset, and I was all, hey they probably don't really want to release during a lockdown, so it's understandable, besides the lockdowns will probably be over in June anyway. I ate crow for that one.

He'd probably be able to make a decent Dragon Ball Z movie. The final act of Man of Steel might as well have been Goku fighting Vageta. -

Trivial beliefs like which fruit is best don't matter, but we're talking about racism here. Why wouldn't the beliefs of a racist coworker matter to him as a POC? Even if that coworker doesn't act on anything, the fact that he thinks he is better than him because he's White is deeply troubling. Why wouldn't @Ghost_MHbe uncomfortable working with someone who looks down on him? Let me ask you something sincerely; would you be comfortable hiring someone who was racist against Black people? Even if he doesn't do anything physically, and is in fact a good worker, would you still want to hire and employ him knowing the fact that he thinks he's better than you because of the colour of your skin? -

Except when it comes to being a Disney star where they sign very strict contracts, and they have to watch their social media presence. She was hurting Disney's brand with her constant shit posts. She became more trouble than she's worth (and judging by people's reactions to her acting she wasn't worth much to begin with), so they decided she wasn't a right fit for the company anymore. -
Depends what I ate the day before.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pascal was involved in getting her contact not renewed. He could have told producers and showrunners that he doesn't like working with her after her transphobic shit, even though he tried talking to her about it. Again, his sister came out as a trans woman, so of course he's going to take that shit personally. If you create a toxic work environment where people don't like working with you, don't be surprised when you're not asked to come back to work. Forget politics, or cancel culture, or whatever, you're just being a bad employee. -
Television The Walking Dead. Where we at?

I also don't understand the appeal of a spin-off series for Daryl and Carol from the actor's viewpoints. Yes I get having a TV show role is good, solid, secure, and consistent work if the show is popular, but after more than 10 years of playing the same character, and now the show is coming to an end, wouldn't you want to move on to something else? Do something new and exciting? Daryl is already basically the main character now anyway with Rick gone, so it's not like Kelsey Grammar going from Cheers as a side character to Frasier as the star. I know me personally I'd be bored! As an actor I wouldn't want a TV role because it would feel like the same thing every day, and I'd hate to be on some middling sitcom like Big Bang Theory, or a repetitive show like The Waking Dead for 10 years. If I'm going to star in a show it would have to be a story with an ending in mind, not something that will just run for as long as it can before audiences, or the people making it get bored of it. Think of shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, or various mini series that knew they would have X number of seasons, and were leading towards an ending. Sometimes things end well (Breaking Bad), sometimes not (Game of Thrones), but at least you know you're working towards a story with an ending planned to happen at some point, and each week each episode moves closer to that goal. It just seems so unambitious. -
