Sony RUMOR: Sony to buy Bluepoint Games soon
crispy4000 replied to SaysWho?'s topic in The Spawn Point
There were a few surprisingly good back ports. We'll get to see this kind of thing continue throughout the generation with the Series S. -

Why? It was a good port for back then. Performance analysis: Titanfall on Xbox 360 WWW.EUROGAMER.NET -

Eh, they’ve shown with Demon Souls and SoC they have the artistic and tech chops. It’s mainly game design and systems where they’re untested. I’m playing through BP’s Uncharted 3 port right now, fun coincidence. -

Mainly. Fun fact: they did the 360 port of Titanfall. -
With the minimum PC spec: Hovers around 60fps at 1080p on high settings, could also be a 60fps lock on medium. Not too bad! This definitely could have been a cross-gen release though.

Super interested in some genuine console comparisons of PS5/Series X optimized games dropping today. It's crazy how lid tight both consoles have been with it this generation. Doesn't sound like many publishers sent review code for both platforms. For direct comparisons, we've had a brief clip of Dirt 5 on PS5, NBA2k21, and DF's DMC5 video. And a poor quality 1080p AC Valhalla video leaked by a youtuber. Bad news on that...

'Oh look, Call of Duty / NBA2K / Demon Souls is $70 instead of $60' 'Charges credit card' These sort of games are going to make it palatable in the here and now. The faster the new consoles sell, the more typical it will become. Godfall could get swept up in the pricing drama after the reviews. But really, if it bombs, $60 still wouldn't have given it a fighting chance.

I also think that Series X will become the new 'S' once a mid-cycle refresh is here. That leaves the existing Series S in a bit of a pickle though. On one hand, it won't hold things back as much as if the Xbox One X was still around. But it could also see some performance issues on it if developers push onward past it. We're already getting a dynamic 1080p30 in Watch Dogs, a cross-gen title with next-gen visual features. How much worse could it be in 3 years? 6 years? How good of a purchase it is depends entirely on how ports shape up for as long as its intended to be used. If it starts to struggle once the cross-gen period is over, that's not good enough IMO.

Open Critic applied the label "Weak" to it given the reviews scores so far. Which sounds like at least 3 of the 10 reviews agree with (Digital Trends, EGM, The Gamer), calling it launch fluff not worth the money. I'd be more inclined to call it "polarizing" based on what I read. Which isn't typically good thing. Doesn't mean that the naysayers are right, but mileage may vary.

It looks like Series X and PS5 will be closer in performance than any generation in the past. PS5 is punching above its weight in the specs comparison, although it still seems slightly less consistent on the whole than Series X. (But for some reason, more performant in DMC5's high framerate mode) DMC5 doesn't use dynamic resolution scaling, which could iron things out for both machines in other titles.

Godfall for PS5, PC Reviews OPENCRITIC.COM Godfall is rated 'Weak' after being reviewed by 9 critics, with an overall average score of 61. It's ranked in the bottom 18% of games and recommended by 17% of critics. Not looking too good.

Did you actually install from the install disc? I think it lets you play a little off of it if you don't. Or maybe it's vice versa. Either way, do the full install.
