  1. If you're saying it spikes into the 70s while mostly idling or light use, then yes that is a problem. If it's going into the 70s while gaming or under full load, that is totally normal for a 7800x3D. But judging from the looks of that cooler, it's definitely not suitable for long term high CPU loads. There's just not enough thermal mass and dissipation for a high end 8 core CPU. Might want to also try resetting the CPU into the socket. If the CPU isn't making good contact with the motherboard, that can also cause RAM related issues. Check for bent pins or debris. And definitely, definitely update the BIOS if you haven't yet. There's a button by the USB ports on the back to do it, and you don't even need a CPU installed. Not only is there better RAM support, but some early BIOS on some motherboards were causing 7800X3Ds to blow up because they were sending too high of a voltage to it.
  2. The stiffness is definitely intentional, and I think this characteristic is supposed to "rhyme" with how all of the council members in the prequels had the same demeanor and not necessarily just be a result of Ahsoka getting older. I'm just not in love with execution. Even an older and considered Obi-Wan, Luke, and Yoda had distinct personalities. The episode was a nostalgia trip. Ahsoka was visited by the Force Ghost of Order 66 Past. If we don't finally get to see a happier Scrooge my disappointment in the series will continue. I can't see any reason for the show's pace to not pick up as we're going to an entirely new galaxy and will presumably get to see the first live action Ezra and/or Thrawn.
  3. It was slow in both regards. And honestly, repeating "rhyming" plot points is what most of the sequel Star Wars does - even moreso than what Lucas did with the prequels. I'm still waiting for the explanation as to how we got to this version of Ahsoka (bland, boring, emotionless "Jedi Master") from the Ahsoka in Rebels who proclaimed "I am no Jedi."
  4. I think it's safe to say "slow" is Filoni's directorial style for live action. It's been his go-to so far (classic Western/Samurai inspired), and I hope he's got something more in the bag because I don't think this style will translate to the movie he's supposed to be making.
  5. Most likely an out-of-date BIOS with bad RAM support. Some CPUs and Mobo, especially on older BIOS, have trouble running RAM faster than 5600.
  6. An Nvidia driver update will most likely boost performance, as right now you have to manually enforce ReBar which helps framerates. Don't use Ultra shadows on Nvidia cards. And look into the DLSS mod. I can't imagine you're using a bad CPU if you have a 3080, which is good enough to play the game (just not at Ultra settings).
  7. From what I've seen, the 4770k will probably average like 30 fps and probably stutter. Six cores is the minimum recommended, and the game also loves memory speeds.
  8. AMD Ryzen 7800X3D CPU is pretty good bang for the buck. A decent motherboard will be around $200 (or more), and you will need new DDR5 RAM which you can get under $100. AMD could bring out more processors for this platform in the future, but it's not guaranteed for how long. Starfield in particular does perform better with Intel CPUs. If you go with an Intel, they will only release one more set of future CPU upgrades. The 13600K or 13700K would be good values, and again you'll also need DDR5 RAM. Would also be recommended to have a good cooler. If you currently have one, you'll probably need to find an adapter to fit the new sockets.
  9. Why do we need to know things when my droid Siri/Alexa/Google can do it for me?
  10. Ok, it's not quite as bad as Anakin telling Padme he murdered women and children and then Padme telling Anakin she deeply loves him, but the rest of TPM and AOTC is comparable. Lots of standing or sitting exposition dumps, and too much
  11. Changing my TV's color temperature from neutral, where every other show looks fine, to cool drastically enhances color saturation, bringing it into alignment with most other TV shows [although IIRC Obi-Wan was also very drab]. It looks so much better now. It's too bad the writing is... peak prequel-trilogy-dialogue bad.
  12. 81 Didn't want to be in Stepee's since he gave me a video card in the past, but I'd definitely love a portable PC.
  13. The volume is definitely driving these shots, but in some circumstances the real life background actors are just standing in one spot as the main characters talk. Also he straight copied.... err I mean "rhymed" two Sabine scenes with two Rebels scenes (Kana cutting off his hair, and the finale). I wonder if the volume also the reason the show's color palette is so desaturated and overly bright. Everything felt pretty slow. Slow isn't a problem on its own, only when its overdone and I feel like it was here. Hopefully the rest of the episodes can move now that we've spent plenty of time simmering in this angsty drama of Sabine's. It certainly doesn't help that for some reason Youtube has recently recommended a dialect expert channel, and I watched a few episodes. So now I'm keyed into exactly how people are enunciating their words.
  14. Maybe it's not so bad going in blind, because my impression of the show so far is the characters are trying too damn hard to imitate the animated versions, and it simply is not translating to live action. From subtle (and not so subtle) mannerisms, their body posture, and down to the inflection of their voice, the real life actors just seem like average impersonators to me. Of course, it certainly doesn't help when Filoni also copies the exact same camera shots from the animated series too.
  15. IMO, no not yet. This show is using quite a bit of lore from all previous SW media, especially from Clone Wars and Rebels. On top of the explicit call-backs to prior shows, there are a lot of non-verbal throwbacks as well. The first two episodes don't do much to bring you up to speed with these characters, because they are calling back to some off-screen character history that took place between shows to give us veteran viewers something to latch onto. But maybe it does some crazy things that don't require all of that history by the end of the run to warrant a watch, and if the rumored upcoming Star Wars films are still a go then Filoni is going to finish off this series with an actual movie.
  16. So far I think I would prefer this show to be animated. The biggest reason being I'm so used to hearing the voice actors for a decade, and they were so good. Filoni also directs these things exactly the same as the series, so we're not experiencing anything unique from the show being live action.
  17. How are they getting triple the fps with just upscaling?
  18. Listen to Linus explain their terrible harassment policy, and get a bonus clue as to who the toxic, abusive manager to Madison was (it's most likely James, the guy who looks like he expects any woman to sleep with him because he wants them to. Fun fact, he's also the head of writing so that explains their terrible apology video):
  19. Jesus, the worst parts, NSFW warning: Why the fuck do they have an OF account? And holy deceptiveness: So this poor girl had to do the job of what they now have multiple people do, do things against her will, and had to put up with contract disputes, sabotage, gaslighting, name-calling, and sexism.
