I have an in-person fantasy draft so not til Monday. I'm gutted for Jamie because this should have been her moment. Instead, one of 2 things will probably happen that would piss me off to no end; 1. Saraya wins to capitalize on the home-country pop, even though she's a shell of her former self and that former self wasn't that great to begin with. 2. Jamie will come out to a huge pop to neutralize Ruby and still get some kind of moment, only to raise Britt's arm when she wins it.

Perpetual loser, Alexi Lalas, trying to explain what it would take for the USWNT to get back to their winning ways is a hoot. Probably only hired because of his stupid haircut in '94 basically making him the Carrot Top of soccer analysts. And they countered his loserdom with Carli "bitter as fuck" Lloyd, who thinks more heart, grit, and well-planned windsprints in the background would get the job done. 1-time WC winner and 1-time WC watcher because Ellis had the balls to bench her in 2019 because Morgan was younger and better (part of the reason for Carli's bitterness), which goes back to your point. The transition period of vets and kids coupled with some of the kids' injuries (Swanson and Macario) did not help. If those 2 were healthy, Morgan and Pinoe's minutes would be more limited. After watching the Sweden game and given the roster, my ideal lineup would be the same 4-2-3-1, same backline, same d-mids, Trin-Horan-Rose, and Sophia up top. I'd prefer Rose in the middle and Lynn on the wing but VA never benches Horan.

I love the USWNT. Followed them since '99. No one in my friend circle cares though. They would have watched if the kickoff times were more convenient. This team was basically set up to fail with an incompetent Fed and an even more incompetent coach. Hopefully, at least the latter will be dealt with.

I thought of something similar. It was a circlejerk and the last to nut has to eat it.

The 30 for 30 definitely had a different vibe making it creator-focused instead of gladiator-focused. I think everyone who held out for money and got fired, which I don't think was mentioned at all in the 30 for 30, did not make an appearance in the 30 for 30. Given the last bit that Ferraro had to have the last word, this seemed like a fluff-piece to cater to him. I think the only gladiators allowed were the ones that didn't have problems with Ferraro. Gemini did appear in both and was dignified as the locker room leader. I do find it convenient the timing of both of these docs and both incarnations of the series (1989 and 2008) coincided (at least nearly) with writer's strikes (1988, 2008, present).
