Consumers spent $3.3 billion on video game hardware, software, and accessories in August, according to industry-tracking firm The NPD Group.

 

  • Video game total sales are 37% higher than last August
  • Video game hardware is 37% higher than last August
  • Video game conten (games, DLC, subscription, etc.) is 37% higher than last August
  • Video game accessories are 42% higher than last August
  • Video game accessories -- gamepads, headsets, steering wheels -- are at record levels.
  • Madden 21's sales are double-digit percentage higher than Madden 20
  • Breath of the Wild has been in the Top 10 for 42 consecutive months
  • Nintendo Switch bests Wii's August 2008 dollar sales
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake was rank 41 in July but jumped to 19 in August

Apparently.

 

And pre-Bedrock.

 

I don't know how integrated other games are nowadays, but even DLC is shared among platforms for MC. It is about as cross platform as it is possible to be.

 

I guess once you hit 200,000,000 copies you're just not that concerned with juicing your NPD numbers.
