Yeah, that sucks. I got it first try. Im only playing on normal though

My Smoldering Brimstone Armor set is badass at level 6, can’t wait till its fully upgraded. I may try to platinum this game. For the first time ever. Unlike most games that have a bunch of side content I don’t give a shit about -like Ellie’s cards- 90% of the extra content in this game are actually fun. Especially the Valkyrie fights and the side quests.

I eventually earned a plat in the game. It was a grand ol' time considering the trophies don't ask you to do something dumb, silly, or useless.

 

Even getting Odin's ravens was fun. In a lot of ways, it's really a collectible, but you're killing the bird instead of collecting something, but it's done really well story-wise.

You never see Odin or talk to Odin in this game. You only see Thor post-credits. And yet, I felt Odin's presence in the game. The Gods know who you are, and Odin has eyes everywhere. A reminder that you'll eventually have to deal with him as he's not taking you lightly.

I played on Hard for some fucking reason I don't understand looking back now. I think Hard literally just jacks up the health pools turning everything into sponges and that's that.

I didn't think it was hard just often irritating until quite a bit into the game when you had more tools available to quickly demolish their often enormous health bars. That's one really weird thing about the game I always thought. It takes several full combos to kill a regular grunt.

Definitely, at least until you fet Epic gear upgraded and max out your weapons. And even then some grunts are health sponges

Man, I have Kratos up to about level 8.5, and he feels like his proper godly self. I destroyed one more Valkyrie tonight. I only have Rota and  Hildr left. Im about to upgrade my last piece of Ivaldi armor for the last time, then ill do the last two tomorrow, before I start trying to kill the queen. The end game side content in this  game is amazing. 
 

once I beat the Queen, I'm going to start a ng+ so I can get the Ares and Zeus sets. Doesn’t seem right for Kratos not to have them.

Definitely can’t wait for the next game, because this is such an incredible experience. Hopefully it will be within a year or so of launch. 3-4 years development should be doable, now that they have built the structure of the game. Part 2 is now my most anticipated game.

Now that you mention it, has there been any word on the inevitable sequel at all? I feel like I haven't heard peep and haven't thought about it. I think they have a lot of room here for a really ridiculously good sequel. I do hope they cut back on the slow walk & talk a bit and also add some sort of interesting mechanic to the climbing sections.

No word, but I'm 99% sure Santa Monica started working on it in 2018.

Already did. I Just beat the Valkyrie Queen. 
 

i just need about 30 ravens and some treasure hunts for the platinum. Gonna use one save to finish that up, and start a second NG+ on Hard so I can get my Zeus and Ares sets.

I didn't think I would even bother with the Platinum, but by the end of the game I had only a few ravens and other things to collect I figured I might as well. It really is a great game.

Never. I usually, outside of pandemics, don’t have a lot of time to play. So i play a game until I beat it and move on most of the time, unless it’s a game I love. I love this game.

 

I’ve never played hellblade, I tried the first infamous and didnt love it so I never got the others, and ive never played a telltale game.

In fact, most of the time in a normal year, my gaming is between the switch, vita, and 3ds, what little I get, because I can keep then in my room on the boat and easily charge them. I usually play an hour or so before crashing on one of those.

Man, luck is far more important than I expected. defence and Vitality are worthless in endgame , because that content is supposed to be based on skill. But luck also effects perks, snd certain perks are incredible. Over 120 luck, and I had constant barriers, buffs, and runic refreshes.
 

In fact I would say that Luck and Runic are the most important stats for a lot of builds (two piece Valkyrie armor and Sindri chest w/realm shifting talisman makes you godly in NG+ GMC and GMGoW difficulties. Im literally just constantly destroying the battlefield with constant AoE Runic attacks just destroying everything in my path and getting my runic abilities refreshed almost every time an enemy dies, in the middle of slowed time where I can also hack and cleave them with regular attacks. 
 

In fact, I think most people don’t realize just how deep and how many ways there are to approach battles in this game. A high strength/defense/Vitality is absolutely fine for any part of the main game, and you will trash enemies, it is so satisfying to learn to play this game the way it was meant to be in the post game, and then going to a harder difficulty on NG+ and experiencing the game in a far different way, with harder enemies and a godly kratos.

Strength, Runic, and Cooldown are the most important stats you should focus on. I think Luck only determines drop rates for items. Could be wrong on that, but still the the I listed are what I focused on since Vitality and Defence are only good if you're getting hit, and dodging is really important in this game (which is a shame that it's actually kind of broken, and I hope gets tightened up in the sequel (there are times when you have perfectly dodged, but the game goes "nope", and teleports either you or the enemy into the line of attack, and you still get hit)).

I had that happen more times than I can count fighting Valkyries where their stomp attack would nail you even though you clearly dodged it.
