Locally, the Democrat Party is trying to get me to run for office

For some reason, the Democrat Party contacted me months ago and indicated they wanted me to think about running for local office.

 

I don't know what got them to think I would be a good person to run for office, but over months, they kept contacting me, and now want to set me up to speak to one of their "specialists" this week to see if there's some way to de4velop me for a local political office. Being bored, I said sure, I'd take the call and we can talk about it.

 

I wonder how they'll respond when they discover I'm actually a Republican. Part of me suspects they already know because I live in Texas where the Republicans control everything, and I'd be the type of Republican they'd rather have in office (i.e. non Trumpian).

 

Anyway, thought it was both funny and interesting as I'm a college professor, not a politician.

There's no suspect about it, that's exactly it. Better to have that guy that is essentially a democrat from 20 years ago than a guy running on "I'm gonna skullfuck the asylum seekers and sell the footage"
