General Gaming Gene Park -- video game writer at the Washington Post and one of the few genuine video game journalists -- reports that his cancer has returned and spread to his lungs

Gene was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer last July and underwent surgery to remove the tumor last November.  The surgery was successful and he reported last December that he was in remission.

 

Sadly, he posted today that a malignant tumor was discovered in his lungs.  The "good" news (if there ever is such a thing when dealing with cancer) is that the tumor is "small" and that it was discovered "early".  A procedure has been schedule for November (exactly a year after the initial procedure to remove the colon tumor) and he'll be in chemotherapy subsequently.

 

This really, really sucks because Gene is definitely one of the best in the business of actual video game journalism
