A political historian explains the country’s dismal scores. Under this methodology – an expansive model of 17 categories, or “goals,” many of them focused on the environment and equity – the U.S. ranks between Cuba and Bulgaria. I just had whatever her GOP face is, canvassing for the vacant District 17 in Massachusetts, knock on my door. She did warn me she was a Republican before she handed me a flyer, but one of her top issues is election security.
