  1. I’ll second the Mice and Mystics recommendation. I’ve been playing with my wife and it’s a BLAST! Theres also a Harry Potter game whose exact name escapes me that plays very similar to Mice and Mystics that we really like too.
  2. It clicked for me as an 80’s trope but I completely missed that it was straight from Die Hard haha
  3. Why not? I found it to be a fun alternative form of story telling. Do I want every game to do that? Hell no. Would I mind if someone kept exploring blurring the lines? Absolutely.
  4. And it was a dumb point. That point is predicated on the Switch Lite being a true alternative to the Switch. It isn’t really. It’s a different machine with a different purpose for a different audience. The only reason this insanely thick headed argument is being made is because of the name. If they had named it something different then no one would have a problem. But because people can’t wrap their heads around the fact that the Switch is just a brand name and doesn’t mean had to actually “switch” then everyone’s nerd rage has been triggered.
  5. It’s an accurate point when discussing luxury items which a video game system is. A $100 difference is relatively small and does not constitute a true financial barrier.
  6. No. You’re 2/3 of the way there at that point. Just like life, you keep saving, sacrificing and working hard to get something better. A kid whose saving up for a system, if he has a steady source of income no matter the size, is just about time rather than affordability.
  7. Guess what. If you can’t afford a $300 Switch, then you also can’t afford a $200 Switch. I can’t remember who made that point I just remember it was dumb.
  8. It does feel odd that they’re just bombarding everyone with these instead of spacing them out.
  9. Ahhh damn I can’t believe I missed that. And I LOVED that they basically made that dude the Terminator 😂 This show manages to balance serious/heavy and fun better than any I can remember.
  10. A spike pit where the spikes are made out of $100 bills maybe. They seem to be doing ok for themselves.
  11. Just finished the show today. Episode 8 was basically perfection in TV form. I liked season 2 but like many others felt that it lost a bit of its magic. Season 3 got it back in spades. The kids got to play off each other again and literally every single side character they’ve introduced is a home run addition to the show. when was the Die Hard quoting? I missed it.
  12. So after reading that review it feels like that dude used a whole lotta words to say “I don’t like that it’s a realistic take” His criticisms are entirely based on the idea that he’s disappointed the film doesn’t do things it never could have ever done. A realistic take could never have been a vibrant as the animated original and he never gets over it.
  13. It’s a Remedy game. You either like them or you don’t. I don’t think there was ever any evidence of them changing up the formula for this one 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. Aquaman 4/5 Super late to the party but I really really liked it. Obviously it’s gorgeous and on my 4K TV my head almost exploded. But it was just a really fun, solid movie. The plot felt like half super hero movie and half adventure film like National Treasure. I’ll have to watch it again but as of right now this is one of my favorite super hero movies. Just an awesome, fun, beautiful ride.
  15. Inability to pay month to month is incoming with these things. Gonna be forced to buy 6/12 months at a time I bet.
  16. This looks like what I originally thought they were gonna do with these remakes. I live action revisioning of the story. As opposed to a sometimes really awkward live action shot for shot remake. Really excited for this.
  17. Black Summer 4/5: @skillzdadirectarecommended this show to me as I hadn’t previously heard of it. Really good take on a zombie apocalypse story. Feels a lot more grounded and “real” than the melodrama of TWD. I loved the first few episodes and the way it overlapped he multiple stories of the characters. Once they all came together it lost me just a little bit. It was still good but everything started to move at an extremely accelerated rate and the dialogue(which I was really enjoying) basically disappears in the last few episodes. It kind of reminds me how 28 Days Later feels like two very different movies. Only the latter story in this isn’t a stupid mess lol. Overall really good show thats shot AMAZINGLY well. Look forward to season 2.
  18. Favorite summer cocktail right now: Hendricks, St Germaine, Soda with lemon and lime. Soooooo damn good and refreshing.
