I took martial arts very seriously for like 10 years. Then Covid hit, I fell off the proverbial treadmill of my routine and now I can't wrap my head around how much time and energy that took. I've had like three false starts trying to get back into Muay Thai and boxing.

My best friend has been working on his Master's in Statistics while working full time. He's also single, no kids etc. though so I'm sure that's a factor. Either way, it's definitely been really tough on him from what I've seen but he says very much worth it.

I do read them in German and they're really cool. I actually see it as a positive that they're a bit like Name of the Rose Lite. They're great, fun reads with lots of atmosphere and well-explained politics and customs of the time. Not that they're LIKE Name but this isn't exactly a little sub-genre with many entries.

Name of the Rose is one of my favorite books and I also love the the Pötzsch stuff. Very very interested immediately. Edit: Just watched the video, fantastic. I have several woodcut tattoos, my favorite art style.

Actually it's great timing. It gives me an exit option should I ever require it. Edit: And to elaborate on that, I never got my citizenship prior because I refused to do it without retaining my original German/EU citizenship. I'm not gonna lie, and I've said it here before, but I don't typically follow politics or the news all too much anymore exactly because I used to and it put me in a constant state of alarm and anxiety. So yeah, this is actually pretty fucking shocking to me on first read. I know it shouldn't be at all, I know the score with these people but still. It is baffling and surreal to see this kind of slide backwards actually happen whenever it does.
