  1. Absolutely. The Peter Jackson movies made them look good enough, but they also made them seem like weak cannon fodder who are only a threat due to numbers. The show is better illustrating their sheer aggression, IMO, which definitely adds to their “scariness”.
  2. This is a bad argument and excuse. If the controllers aren't compatible, then the controllers aren't compatible and you'd need to use the wands for those games - for the headset itself to not able to display the game is absurd. There are plenty of SteamVR games that will not work with knuckle controllers and you need to use the old-style Vive-Wand (or other) controllers, but any headset and tracking method still work. If the controllers simply aren't compatible then there's two options: 1.) the dev can patch in support for the new controllers, OR, 2.) you need the wands to play it. That's really as complicated as it should be. Let's not make shitty excuses for shitty practices, my friend.
  3. Yes, but there’s typically some change that occurs, whether it’s a change in “aura” of the person to turning invisible (yes, I understand it’s a slip into another realm for those who cannot grasp its full power, but, for all intents and purposes, it’s essentially invisible). For Tom, there was nothing. The argument of “Tom doesn’t change because Tom is Tom”, to me, doesn’t really hold well while saying he’s a Maiar, unless you’re agreeing that he’s something else that’s not Maiar Unfortunately, we'll never actually know what Tom or Ungoliant actually are and left to guesses based on the information given - for all we know Tom could very well simply be an allegory for Tolkien himself
  4. I also noticed that on PC maxed out, Spider-Man’s eyes have ray traced reflections - maybe it’s on PS5 too but I def didn’t notice it like I do on PC.
  5. Kinda - I err towards the side of that Tom is the primordial essence/being that embodies the music (that’s why he’s kinda always singing or dancing), Ungoliant would be the embodiment of the primordial “darkness” so-to-speak.
  6. To clarify, I think they’re Ainu, just not necessarily a Valar or Maiar - just something else that “came to be”.
  7. Eh, the ring doesn’t even make Tom turn invisible, he could make the ring vanish, and he could still see Frodo when Frodo put the ring on. Also, Ungoliant nearly killing Morgoth and taking multiple Balrogs to stop her is not something I don’t believe any Maiar could achieve singlehandedly.
  8. I don’t think any Maiar would be able to overpower and nearly kill a Valar, let alone the strongest one, even if he’s a bit tired. Maiar/Istari are vulnerable to the one ring, even Gandalf; Tom plays with it like a toy and makes it vanish. It’s not impossible for them to be Maiar, just very improbable.
  9. For which part? GeForceFX came out in Jan of 2003, that’s nearly 20 years ago. The original TNT came out in 1998
  10. What’s interesting is that I’m old enough to remember when nVidia were the “good guys”. The TNT through GeForce 2 days they were the “fun” GPU company that was doing new things. GeForce 4, with the intentionally misleading MX series, is when they started to be kinda dickish, the disaster that was the GeForceFX (GeForce 5) is when it really came into light, IMO.
  11. I’m a little surprised that it’s not 100% remade in the new engine. The graphics are a mixed bag in videos compared to the FF7 Remake and its expansion, most notably some of the non-combat animations.
  12. Wait, did you read the article? Only review boards had the issue, no customer shipments had POSCAP, only MLCC. Evga was confirming that POSCAPs were P.O.S.-caps there I think. Maybe non FTW3 didn’t have MLCC, though?
  13. Oh, weird, I remember them being listed as having the better capacitors that didn’t have the issues with power distribution for clock speeds
  14. I believe ASUS was the only other 3rd party manufacturer besides EVGA that used quality capacitors for the initial 30xx card releases and completely avoided those initial issues. That’s who I’ll likely be buying from unless Corsair starts making GPUs.
  15. Why wouldn’t they be? I’m so confused. I wonder if this is a miscommunication and they just mean the new controllers won’t work on games that use the wands?
