Still working on platinum'ing Demon's Souls. On NG+ currently. I don't plan on save scumming so I might have to go NG++ or +++ to do it, but we'll see.

Fun fact: That was the first Onion article I ever read back in the day which made me a fan of The Onion. :P When I was a kid "gay" was used a lot to denote negative things. We never used it in my house growing up. My parents explained early why it was bad and it also felt lazy. It seems to have stuck though to the next gen's lexicon. I've heard my sons and their teenage friends use it in that way still today. Which surprises me a little because I thought today's teen was supposed to be more sensitive to shit like that. I've had to correct them and their friends on a few occasions over the years. As far as retarded goes, and I'll admit I'm in the wrong here, I still use it from time to time. It's not a constant part of my vocabulary, but it hasn't left entirely. For whatever reason in my head there's a big difference between calling a thing/situation 'retarded' and calling someone 'a retard'. The latter is something I'd never say, but the former just doesn't feel transgressive. It's not being applied in the context of a person or their mental capacity. I don't know. I don't have the words to explain it right now beyond that it just doesn't feel wrong in my head. Like if I were to say "faggot" or the n-word or '$person is a retard' out loud here right now it'd make me very uncomfortable, even though I'm alone in the room and nobody would hear it. I wouldn't feel that same personal sense of unease if I were to say something like "that shit's retarded" in reference to a thing/situation. I don't know if that makes sense.

My first tile draw of my first game was an unnamed tile with 2 large spaces both spawning an enemy. So now I'm down a card moving in there and have 2 left. If I run they chase me back out into the candle space and fight me with only 1 card left. So I stood and fought; it didn't work out for me. :P

Wow so the game is hard. Died on my first turn of the first game I attempted. Partially due to bad luck and partially due to it being my first turn of the first game and not having a keen grasp on the strategy yet.

Books are my favorite, but sadly they are the one I find the least time for.

I haven't really dived super deep into it yet so I don't want to give impressions prematurely. I can tell you though that I like the round limit which is managed by the hunt track. The track advances every time you go back to the Hunter's Dream (either intentionally or by dying) and if the track reaches the end and you don't finish the chapter by the end of that round you lose. It gives you a loss condition. It creates urgency. If people could just go back to Hunter's Dream willy-nilly there'd be no finite end so people could just grind out the best kit for their hunter every game. You'd always win...eventually. And if you can't lose it's not fun IMO. As far as painting goes...yes, in theory. I am not a big mini-painter, but I do like having painted minis. I painted my Blood Bowl team and I always paint my current D&D player mini I'm using. On the other hand I said I wanted to paint my Cthulhu Wars minis and I've had that game for a few years now and there is not a speck of paint on them. So the answer is I want to paint my Bloodborne minis, but I'm not holding my breath that I'm actually gonna follow through on that anytime soon.
