Sony is not in the console business. They are in the digital store front business, and to a smaller extent the game publishing business. Getting PC gamers to buy their consoles (at a loss) for the exclusives, IMHO, doesn't really help their store front. Because, most PC gamers are still buying most of their games on Steam/EGS (or publisher specific store fronts).

Not sure there is really a reason to pick these over the alternatives.

PC Tech HDR Support for PC Games
AbsolutSurgen replied to AbsolutSurgen's topic in PC/Mac Technical and PCCB
TBH, modern games are scaling much better than they used to. Since I'm running a 1440p monitor, the older computer isn't hurting me too much. My rationale for upgrading at the moment is: 1) To get a second gaming computer into the house 2) To take advantage of HDR / Ray Tracing Now that video cards are somewhat reasonably priced, it's really the first time I've looked at getting a new PC. Toughest part will be spousal approval. -
PC Tech HDR Support for PC Games
AbsolutSurgen replied to AbsolutSurgen's topic in PC/Mac Technical and PCCB
My current one is as well. I'm still rocking a 9700k and 1070 -- which I plan to keep around (I have a very low chance of getting access to it at the moment due to the mini-people in my house). -
The garlic is definitely one of my go-tos. IMHO, Spinach and the Crown are also important. My focus is to get my experience growing as quickly as possible, and my DPS up as quickly as possible at the beginning of each run. Suggestions as things get more survivable: 1) Pay attention to your map 2) Don't ignore the collectibles/achievements I made those two mistakes early on.

I'm in the process of planning a new gaming computer for Xmas this year. IMHO, HDR is one of the greatest improvements to fidelity that I've seen for TV/Movies... However, the adoption of HDR in gaming monitors -- is not widespread, and expensive. Before I try and jam a HDR monitor in the budget, does anyone have experience on how many PC games actually support it well?

Yes. He is critical of government institutions -- that is what opposition parties are supposed to do when they disagree with how the government is running things. Now, some of his comments on monetary policy are.... um... troubling. As social media has become more prevalent, traditional media has allowed opinion/news reporting to become more blurred that they historically were. That has led, IMHO, the biases of the mostly downtown-Toronto news media to become significantly more prevalent in the English-Canada news. Other than Postmedia, they all largely support the Trudeau Government (The Star and CBC are blatant, CTV/Global/The Globe are somewhat less so). Once opinions become apparent to news reporting, they become political. Anyways, since this isn't Covid related, I won't respond in this thread any longer, so I don't piss off @sblfilms.

1) Who backs up their phone over a cable in 2022? 2) Why does anyone have a strong opinion over what connection their phone uses? 3) I haven't noticed a longevity difference between the 3rd party nylon braided cables I bought for my USB-C/Lightning devices 4) I still have devices that charge over micro-USB, doesn't everyone?

Recent polls have support of mask mandates being ever brought back at ~50% (last poll I saw was in July 2022, and it had been falling rapidly ~70% in February '22 and 86% in November '20) -- support of vaccine passports in the future was about 25%. It's mostly PPC supporters and Prairie Conservatives that support the convoy. At this point, I am willing to support the Prairies separating from Canada.

That was my point. Conservatives were mostly happy with how Ford and Legault handled the situation -- you were suggesting that they weren't. Many thought the duration of restrictions went on way too long (me included) and were not targeted enough (me included). Closing schools in January 2022 was a ridiculous decision. With regards to mask mandates, on my flight on Monday, ~5% of people were wearing masks. I am not sure the mask mandates (that were just lifted over the weekend) had the broad-based support you are implying.

The best part of the Bronco's signing Russell Wilson is the sheer size of his cap hit over the next few years.- 58 replies
