  1. This movie had a lot of good individual sequences but didn’t fully gel for me. Several tones are being juggled and the more emotional elements never really landed for me.
  2. After the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago I knew that the next Republican president was going to use FBI and DOJ to go after political opponents in retaliation.
  3. Oh there's not question that the next Republican president is going to use the DOJ and FBI to go after polical opponents in reaction to the Mar-a-Lago raid.
  4. I'll be keep it up for a while so I can share it other communities I'm part of. I'm honestly so blown away by all the contributions. You guys are amazing.
  5. I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and donations today. It's been a tough few months watching my situation grow more worrisome but I'm feeling hope in a way I haven't in a long time. Y'all mean so much to me. Thank you
  6. Tampa pride event cancelled after DeSantis signs ‘anti-drag’ bill WWW.WFLA.COM A yearly pride event in downtown Tampa has been cancelled after a bill concerning “adult live performances” was signed into law Wednesday. This was a few days ago but I didn't see it posted. I'm still so heartbroken over this.
  7. Tampa is cancelling all their pride events next month due to retaliation from the state, so sure, let's talk about how this is a purely political statement. So many people here are scared and you have to be sheltered as to think there is no danger of coming here if you're trans. I've been talking to tons of other trans people in other online communities I'm part of and so many are actively working on moving out of red states right now. There is an actual migration of minority groups fleeing increasingly oppressive states. How do people not realize what's happening?
  8. DeSantis’s $13.5m police program lures officers with violent records to Florida | Florida | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Governor’s incentive scheme recruits officers with history of excessive violence or who have been arrested since signing up Florida is actively recruiting violent officers who have been fired from other states. So while there may be a political element to putting out such a statement, it’s also practical advice. This state is becoming more and more extreme at an alarming rate.
  9. A huge gay scene isn’t really gonna protect you from a police force that now has a slew of new anti LGBT laws that they will feel emboldened to enforce. Cities with huge minority populations still have issues with racist law enforcement.
  10. I dunno I receive much different treatment here than I did when I lived in the DC area.
  11. It must be frustrating being one of Trump's lawyers. Try as can to keep his mouth shut about previous lawsuits and he simply won't listen, digging himself even deeper. And on top of that they don't even get paid.
  12. I am curious how all of the terrible news coming out of Florida is affecting tourism to the state. For the longest time Florida had the reputation of being a fun place to visit but not necessarily the best place to live, but now many are fearing stepping one foot here.
  13. I may be cynical on whether Florida can be change but but I should remind those who think this is a complete waste the the mayoral election in Jacksonville was recently won by a Democrat woman. Her opponent was endorsed by DeSantis and Republicans even had a bigger turnout by 3 percentage points. Her opponent’s loss is a sign that independents are turning on DeSantis, especially after the six week abortion banned.
  14. Didn't even realize they had a documentary on Howard Ashman but I'm totally watching this when I get the chance. That's part of the problem with these streaming exclusives. Some of them are properly marketed but most of them are just dumped on the services with little fanfare. Of course these things are gonna bomb if those who would normally be interested are completely unaware they exist.
  15. Should I just make a separate thread and post it in The Shower? I still feel weird asking for money but if it would be easier logistically I can just make a gofundme myself and post it in that thread.
  16. Majora's Mask is still my favorite because it remains unmatched in terms of tone and atmosphere. Breath of the Wild is a close second because of its exploration and discovery but Tears of the Kingdom may overtake it soon.
  17. There have been signs that centrists have turned on DeSantis and the Biden campaign likely has access to private poll numbers that show it's winnable. I'm sure it's within the realm of possibilities but unfortunately I'm just too far cynical these days to be hopeful.
  18. I've been doing research on states that have actual laws that protect trans people, I have a handful of options thankfully. But leaning towards Chicago because Illinois is trans friendly and I already have friends who live there. Up until recently my roadmap had me moving next summer but within the past month I've been questioning if that's too far off. I honestly don't know how much worse things will get within a year and it worries me that it won't be soon enough. If I have the means to move sooner I will absolutely do so, and currently revising my roadmap to try and get out of here by the end of the year if possible.
  19. Let's make a gofundme because that seems like the easiest method for everyone who wants to help.
  20. Would PayPal be a good alternative for our Canadian users? I was leaning towards posting my Venmo and Cash App but I can send my PayPal to those who can't use those methods.

  22. Never fell in love with Succession like everyone else but I am so on board for another season of Gemstones.
