So, you ranked it lower because it didn't match your pre-conceived expectations? The entire series was fantastic. More than a few I'd love to see made into their own shows or films.

It put the characters from the OT in the center of the story, and made them 100% irrelevant. Then it took everything they became and grew into over the three movies and put it all back to square one. Han went back to where he was when we met him, Leia went back to the beginning of her journey, and Luke went back to being a recluse with no friends. The new trilogy literally wiped out all character progression from the OT. It was like Mass Effect 2 all over again. Which is one of my most hated games of all time.

So am I. It's ok, Abrams essentially retconned the original trilogy in Episode 7 anyway. Johnson just went ahead and took it to an exorbitant level of "fuck it". And I'm a HUGE fan of Johnson--I love both Brick and Looper.

This is Jordan Peele's The Happening. Really NOT a good movie, not at all. It has a few moments, but the sheer stupidity of it all and completely telegraphed ending bring it all down to a one or two star movie at best. What's worse is by the end, you simply don't care about the characters... or which characters you're even supposed to care about.

I fucking love Scott Hall. It's nice to actually see him coherent. Has Shawn Michaels always been cross-eyed?

For me it only slightly edges out Blindspotting, which was the superior race relations film from 2018.

Spider-Verse was the best movie of 2018. Period.
