  1. It is common knowledge that Gosling’s best performance was in The Notebook. Especially when they made him look like James Garner.
  2. None at all. Though it does count as a carry on item. After you build it, you get a nice padded sheath with shoulder strap. The blade easily detaches from the hilt (and the hilt makes a cool error noise if you try turning it on without the blade in), but the blade is still too long to fit in our largest suitcase.
  3. We have two. The experience alone is worth the price. It also helps the saber is definitely worth it.
  4. One thing I’ve found with the Pros, they sit differently than the regular AirPods, and with the regular tips, the fit test initially said it was a good fit, but after wearing them for a while they started to move. So I ran the fit test again, and sure enough, it wasn’t a good fit anymore. Switched to the large tips and they’re much more secure now.
  5. No separate levels. Just NC, Off, and Transparency.
  6. Has it been discussed here that the movie isn’t intended to be an accurate depiction of history, but an alternate reality of sorts. So who’s to say that in this version of history, Bruce Lee wasn’t a pompous ass? Perhaps that should have been a sizable indicator that the film wasn’t going to end how everyone thought or expected it to.
  7. Picked up a set day one. They’re fantastic. Came from the Powerbeats Pro. Love the battery life of the PBP, but was never too fond of the form factor or the size of the case, or the fact that they are just typical in ear buds (which I’ve never liked). Enter the AirPods Pro. Size and form factor are about as perfect as can be. Sound is right up there with the PBP. But the real kicker is the noise cancelling system. Because it’s actually three modes—NC, Off, and Transparency mode. Off is your typical in ear buds. You hear every slight movement/noise your body makes when sound isn’t playing. I hate that feeling. NC eliminates that noise, and for being tiny, in-ear buds, does an absolute fantastic job of noise cancellation. It’s essentially the equivalent of wearing really good ear plugs. Only, you don’t hear your body noise. Then there’s Transparency mode. Holy fucking awesome. Instantly it’s like there’s nothing in your ears. You hear your voice perfectly when you talk (no muffle), you hear your surroundings. I can’t overstate how cool of a sensation it is. It’s a must use for phone calls. Switching between the three modes is seamless using the phone, and you can switch between NC and Transparency using the AirPods themselves. And on that subject, even though there’s no haptics in the stalks, because of the “squeeze” instead of “tap”, which squeeze is an INFINITELY better solution, and the sound that plays, it tricks your fingers/brain into thinking/feeling there are haptics. It’s difficult to explain, but you’d swear there was haptic feedback. If I had one complaint, and it’s not really a complaint, it’s that it seems like they charge slower than the AirPods. Both in the case, and plugged in. But I think that’s just me, as I’ve only charged them so far using my MBP, and not an actual power brick. Additionally, I can fall asleep with these in. They’re so much more compact that they don’t get in the way if you have an ear pressed against a pillow. Just switch NC on, put on some music/book/podcast, and pass the fuck out. Apple knocked these out of the park. Though, I wouldn’t have minded a dark green version.
  8. So much better. Part 2 really goes the way of Sci-Fi, paying a lot of homage to Back to the Future. It’s awesome.
  9. I’m just sad we’ll never see Happy Death Day 3 because while the 2nd one over performed, it didn’t over perform up to the studio’s expectations.
  10. On a side note, at what point does this “good writing” start to appear for Breaking Bad? I believe I’m half way through the first season, and it has yet to show itself. The show feels almost sitcom-y... like a meth version of Weeds.
  11. The film industry has only the film industry to blame—if each following year isn’t more financially successful than the previous year, then it’s considered a failure. Ticket prices rise, concession prices rise, and the masses don’t want to spend a bunch of money on an Art house film, or something that isn’t spectacle, because there’s nothing that screams that kind of movie has to be seen on the big screen. If anything, these filmmakers should be praising the MCU for single-handedly saving cinema.
  12. Never read the book, but... FUCK. YES. This movie looks all over the place in all the best ways. 2/2020.
  13. @Keyser_Soze I’ve got the instrumental album on my phone! I also just saw that my favorite as-close-as-I-get-to-metal band just released a new album, too—STARSET. Fucking love that band.
  14. I’ll give it a listen. Wonder if it’s on iTunes... EDIT: Should be available tomorrow (later tonight).
  15. All I’ve seen is this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/disney-plus-will-give-you-4-simultaneous-stream-4k-hdr-uhd-at-no-cost-weekly-episodes/
  16. Have they said what content will be available in 4K? And will they also include Dolby Atmos & Vision?
  17. Great cast. Now, can they please remake Eddie Murphy’s other Disney atrocity? Haunted Mansion.
  18. Also, with the Series 5 Watch, the first day I got it, I could watch the battery life tick down. It was really bad. But since then, battery life has been fantastic. If I tried, I could probably get two days of use out of it. Battery life is definitely better than that of the Series 4, and I’d say on par with the Series 3.
  19. I can confirm the Xbox controller works wonderfully with the Apple TV. Games just need to add invert support now.
  20. Religion was peppered everywhere throughout the entire movie. Prayers at every turn, the dad saying the further he goes in space the closer to god he feels. Giving up on SETI, turning to religion and going crazy. “Is there anyone out there? YES YES YES!” was a reference to god, not aliens. And the fucking monkeys. They purposefully showed a dead rat floating. Don’t you think rabid monkeys would eat the rat? Instead they go after the humans. I immediately took that scene as an “anti-evolution” scene. The scene literally served no purpose in the film. So, aside from the breathtaking visuals, I came away with evolution is fake, we’re the only intelligent species in the known universe, and we should look inwards, because we’re all that matters.
