This drives me bananas. What clout is there tho gain by claiming that you were harassed? The people that bring up claims against men with power get doxxed, harassed, doubted, accused of being liars and gold diggers. Where is the notion that someone coming out against someone like Roiland gets a payday coming from? What’s the possible route from claiming harassment to money here? Who’d be paying them? For what? The insistence that victims be perfect, or that they provide forensically solid levels of evidence when coming forward is just shockingly divorced from reality. This is not directed at anyone specific, but I am begging people to listen to anyone they know IRL who has been harassed at work or in their personal life and reported it to HR, the police, or anybody with authority and see how that went for them. And if you know and are friends with a lot of women and none of them have ever shared an experience like this with you, it might be worth wondering why. This shit happens so much more often than people think, there’s simply no juice to be squeezed in the overwhelming majority of situations where it happens.

YouTube pays creators well, it's why a lot of big influencers on other platforms end up there. The main appeal of Twitter is its userbase. Something will knock it down eventually, these platforms all reach a point where adding new features gets people to quit and try other things. Musk's stupidity and the the viability of other platforms just hasn't reached a collective critical mass.

Something like 14 years ago, we had a 1.5 year old cat that out of nowhere just had a stroke and died on New Year's Eve when we had people over. Came out of the room with his litter box, did a little stutter step, and his ticket was punched. We went to the MSPCA and found the saddest cat in the shelter the next day it was open to adopt, got her a sister a few months later. The second cat of that pair died six or so years later (she'd always had respiratory issues that turned into cancer) and the first rebound cat had to be put down at the beginning of last year. We got 2 kittens within a week of that; the house just didn't feel the same with no cat in it. Chainsmoking pets is a fine and good thing to do if you're up for it, and it's of course it's okay if that doesn't feel right.

Assuming it’s a comic, I have no idea what his sensibilities would be. The extent to which his movies work is because he does have a knack for producing great visual flare. But his edginess coupled with slick production was novel when he was coming up. Edginess has been a part of mainstream comics since Miller and Moore (among others of course) blew shit up in the 80s. Snyder cannot out-brood the masters in their own medium, so…

This wasn’t even a bad episode, y’all need to watch some shit TV from time to time to reset your baseline. I swear, I have no idea how shows like The X-Files lasted as long as they did. There are some truly rancid turds in most show runs, and something like that show was 85% “filler” by today’s standards.
